Sounds like you have the wrong code, maybe the radio was replaced? Hold preset buttons 1 and 6 then turn on the radio. It will display the radio serial #, 4 digits then 4 more. Dealer can get you the code. Or you can register at the owners site online and get the code yourself.
remove the battery terminal to clear the radio, then reinstall the cable, with the key on and the radio off hold down buttons #1 and #6 while turning the radio on, this will give u the serial # of the radio and u can give it to any dealership and they can give u the 5 digit radio code, If they wont just give it to me and I can help you.
You need to be very careful Each failed attempt causes a long delay before you can enter it again. Follow the instructions exactly. You may need to use the car for a day or more before attempting it again if you failed too many times. The radio should say CODE not ERROR. Error means no code can be entered now. You must wait until the radio displays CODE.
The Accord radio does indeed require a code. Have you tried just putting the code in. If you do not know the code do not attempt to guess, as after a few attempts you will lock the radio for good. I need to know the error message exactly as you see it if inserting the code does not work.
try taking the radio out and looking on the top for the parts number. call Honda and tell them what is going on and they will give you a 4 digit code that will reset the radio. i had the same problem with my 05 civic, did that and it worked for me. good luck
You only get like 10 tries this means you made to many attempts trying to put the wrong code in. Disconnect the battery cable and then try putting the code in the radio again.
If you have tried a few times before NOT entering the right code or making error when entering code. This radio will lock you out, here is what you do disconnect battery cable for 60 seconds (positive cable) or disconnect radio fuse. Then re-enter code make sure that you are pressing firmly on number and make sure that you enter correctly.(POWER ON RADIO SHOULD BE IN ON POSITION WHEN DOING THIS) If this doesn't work then you will need to go to HOnda and fora fee they will be able to get code. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA.
To get the radio to work you don't enter the "key code" for your keys. You enter the security code for the radio. Two different numbers. if you make 10 attempts and fail, I believe you have to leave the radio on for either a half hour or an hour before retrying with the correct code. If you can't locate the security code for the radio try this:
The code normally comes on a separate document as does key codes or numbers. You could check the owner's manual to see if it was noted in there. (A bad idea.) Also check for a sticker inside your glove box. If that doesn't work then you need to remove the radio/CD player from the dash to get it's serial number from the back of it. Take that number with your VIN to a Honda dealer and they should be able to get your security code for you. They will likely ask for your driver's license & registration to prove you own the vehicle.
