not shifting is actually caused by a faulty input or output speed sensor or both though some chrysler products only have one or the other they all have them and when it goes bad which once again they all do in chrysler products with automatic transmissions it goes into limp mode as your car has done though its actually locking itself into second gear not low depending on application takes about 50 dollars and 20 to 30 min to change yourself hope this is helpful oh p.s. a lot of transmission shops will tell you the trans is bad when this happens and charge you for a full rebuild and pocket the profit so definitly try it yourself i know of 4 trans shops that have been sued for this here in southern indiana and lots more do the same thing
