You will need to get the diagnostics done for the check engine light and get a transmission flush for yoru car.

You can save some money by checking a new website http://prundo.com/ for free coupons for check engine light and transmission flush. This website also has lots of fee coupons for other auto repair!

not shifting is actually caused by a faulty input or output speed sensor or both though some chrysler products only have one or the other they all have them and when it goes bad which once again they all do in chrysler products with automatic transmissions it goes into limp mode as your car has done though its actually locking itself into second gear not low depending on application takes about 50 dollars and 20 to 30 min to change yourself hope this is helpful oh p.s. a lot of transmission shops will tell you the trans is bad when this happens and charge you for a full rebuild and pocket the profit so definitly try it yourself i know of 4 trans shops that have been sued for this here in southern indiana and lots more do the same thing

Ihave code p0731 stuck in 1st ratio .. what mean that code?

obviously refers to auto trans , could just need the trans fluid level topping up or even changing , if this does'nt resolve the problem then a more in depth diagnosis would be required at a repair shop as could be the ECU for example but do the fluid checks and go from ther ,keep me posted

1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible Not shifting into drive check engine light came on, error code PO715

DTC P0715 CHRYSLER - Input Speed Sensor 1 Circuit
P0715 is detected when TCM or ECM does not receive the proper signal from the sensor.

The input speed sensor detects the primary pulley revolution speed and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Engine Control Module (ECM).

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible shifting problems

Possible causes
- Transmission speed sensor circuit is open or shorted.
- Poor transmission speed sensor circuit connection
- Faulty transmission speed sensor

Hope this clues helps to solve it.

My came with a code po734 is that a big problem?

DTC P0734 - Improper Ratio for Fourth Gear.
P0734 is detected when A/T cannot be shifted to the 4th gear position even if electrical circuit is good.

This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (4th) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting

Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

Tech notes: Start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition, and change fluid if necessary.

Test and check it and send us ypur comments.

What is proper fix for fault code p 1782

P1782 - P/ES Circuit Out Of Self Test Range.
Means that 2-4 pressure switch sense circuit failure. It basically means that the transmission solenoid pack needs to be replaced.

The pressure 2/4-OD Pressure Switch is part of the pressure switch of the transmission. The pressure switch are located in the solenoid assembly. The switch provide input information to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The switch will inform to the TCM is pressure exist in a specified hydraulic circuit. the TCM uses this information to verified that the solenoids are working or not.

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Transmission shift shock

Possible Causes:
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty 2/4-OD Pressure Switch
- 2/4-OD Pressure switch poor electrical connection
- 2/4-OD Pressure switch circuit is open or shorted

Could be water that touched one of your electronics that makes your transmission having problems try to dry the Transmission electronic connectors with low air pressure and see whats happens.Good luck

it is located under the transmission pan
The oil is what makes the transmission shift
When you shut off the engine it stops the transmission pump then when you start up again the transmission shifts until the filter clogs again
