every now and then. Sometimes you had to do that little gas trick where you spray it into your intake then it would fire up everytime.

After 2 weeks of searching and testing and fault elimination as I could not start my Ranger, I found that it was the bonnet release module that had gone faulty. I could turn the engine, but the glow lamp in the dash would turn of immediately when turning the key and the engine would not start. I took the unit out and turned it upside down it now starts first time.

Either a bad body ground,or your tranny is locked up,did it run good before you shut it off?

My husband bought a 92 ranger and put in alot of money. Putting everything brand new from the heads down to hoses. We always had to deal with the truck overheating and the idle going high..finally my...

The clutch seperating will cause slipping and hard to put in gears. But as for the overheating you need to check the cooling fan clutch when the vehicle is warm and at operating temperature turn engine off.take key out and spin the front fan it should be a little stiff to turn when the engine is warm up the fan clutch fluid would cause the fan to grab and spin more than when it is cold.

96 Ranger new battery new solenoid new starter. Can roll it and pop the clutch, but key wont start. Everything turns on but no click when I turn the key.

Hello

I had the same problem with mine. It ended up being the neutral safety switch connected to the clutch pedal. At least with mine you had to hold down the clutch or the truck didnt think it was in neutral. No neutral means it wont start.

I hope that helps

Fuel pump wont come on

bad ground wire? worst case you can run your own swicth to the pump but this woud be run off the ignition so the key must be on . is it in your tank or exturnal on the frame of the truck?

1992 ford ranger will not start

I would check the timing of the engine.
The timing may have skipped .
I would check the fuel pressure. The fuel pump could have took a dump.

Can you hear the fuel pump coming on when you turn the ignition key but do not turn it over to start.
IF you do not hear the fuel pump coming on replace it.
