Toyota Camry power windows not working from master switch

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry sedan and am trying to figure out the problem with my master power window switch connection. My initial switch would only lock the doors and not control any of the 4 windows. I replaced the switch only to discover that the new one would share the same problem. I then replaced the 30 amp power window fuse, located underneath the steering wheel panel, and problem was temporarily resolved while switch was connected outside of driver's door panel housing. Once I secured the switch in door panel, I was unable to operate any of the 4 windows, but could lock doors. Could there be any other fuses within this circuit flow that I need to check? If so, please provide assistance!!!!!!!!!!

Their are two fuses that power this system. One is a 15 amp gauge fuse and the other one is a 30 amp main power fuse. You can also check the power main relay, your ignition switch, or i could possibly be a fault in the wiring

Sorry the gauge fuse is only a 10 amp

Where is the power window fuse on 96 camry

The power window master switch is supplied from the power main relay and M-fuse located in junction block 1, under the dash on the driver's side. See here p-9

Power windows dont work

The problem could be in the window master switch on the driver's door, or in the power supply, main relay or fuse, see here, p84

1996 Toyota Camry DX .. The rear and passenger side windows don't work. It's obviously not the fuse, since the fuse is for every window.. Its not a motor, since that would be three motors blown at one...

Well seems you are on the right track, a common element but not the fuse. I would take the master window switch and the rear window disabling switch out and see if you cannot disassemble them to check for a breakdown in the conducting metal strips or the connector plugs. Some of them can be taken apart and the "points" cleaned with emery boards and erasers. Tough to find a new part for a car that old.

How do you remove the Camry 96 power window master switch? Do you have to remove the door panel? Thanks.

is this a 1996?? If so, the switch may be removed w/o the removing the door panel. Use a flat tip screw driver to pry the lower part upward. Be careful not to break the clip, they are fragile. Hopefully this help!!

Passenger side window will not go back up

No.The drivers master power switch is probably bad.YOu will have to perform a test on the three other switches on the master. Check for power and ground when you push each putton. If the master switch fails the test you need a new master switch.

96 camry only the drivers window works from the drivers door,it will not operate the other windows, and none of the other switches will work, I know all motors work, the master lock out is off

Check all fuses first! Do the other windows work from their own switches? If so, remove master switch, open it carefully as there are springs and parts. Spray switch contacts with electrical contact cleaner;available at most auto stores. If you know to use a test light and an ohmmeter, this is a big help to test all switches. Keep me informed.

1999 Toyota Camry-we've replaced the selinoide on both front doors; the problem we're having now is sometimes the locks work great (along with the windows) and then out of the blue all doors quick working...

I would be looking at replacement of the master control switch. The other possibility is a semi-broken wire that powers the master control. What I would advise: the next time it happens, remove the master switch and plug/unplug/replug the connector. See if that helps. If not, close and open the door whilst manipulating the switches. If the switches start working, you have a bad power feed wire.

1990 camry power window problem

It is rare that the power window relay will fail. Personally, I would look to see if there is power at the master switch on the driver's door. Anywhere. If the is NO POWER, you have a broken wire between the door & the LF kick panel where the wires come thru the body into the door shell. If there is power, the master switch is narmally the culprit
