Tahoe can be running absolutely fine, then suddenly jerks like a bad misfire, lose power like it won't take fuel and limit engine rpm to 2000 rpm. I pull over, put in park try to rev up engine, will not go above 2000 rpm. Turn off and let set for a couple of minutes. Starts just fine rev engine greater than 2000 rpm and it seems okay. May repeat after get going, but may not. Seems to occur under heavier load when need engine rpm to increase above 2000 rpm, like going uphill or pulling out into traffic. Seems like possibly a sensor that is rpm relevant? Thanks for any help.

Replace spark plug wires and plugs. Sometimes old wires will arc to the engine block, causing missfire. Check the wires at night with lights off and engine running, if they're bad, you'll defenitely see them arcing to the engine. if they are...replace.
SOURCE: 1998 chevy K1500 timing runs ok for 10 miles then loses all pwr
1-timing on truck is ajusted by ecm, when u moved it u cause cam sensor code because it detected timing was off! 2-o2 sensors has the role of detecting air to fuel ratio coming out of exhaust, sends signal to ecm wich collects data from other sensors from that sets timing for best performance,if ecm detects something wrong in system data it will give engine code, that code will point at problem area,in your case o2 sensors probably detected lean fuel ratio that points to fuel system, blocked fuel filter or fuel pump faillure, elect, circuit damage, hope it helped!

Sounds like the injector pump has lots of miles and wear or it has lost its calibration; but before jumping to that conclusion, you should replace the fuel filters first to make certain that the engine is not starved for fuel....when you replace the fuel filter, observer whether there is any water inside it by blowing through one side to see the results... if there is, you likely have more in your tank and it should expelled by draining or removing the tank and cleaning.... There is also a course filter in the tank that could also get clogged.... while you have the fuel filter off you can blow air through the filter port back to the tank and loosen the stuff on the filter... mind you know that this is a temporary fix for trash in the fueltank. Now when you prepare to replace the fuel filter(external) you must follow the procedures for expelling air from the line and filter prior to tightening the fittings. I like to remove the glow plugs(if you have them) to freeup the compression to expell the air any time the fuel lines are opened..This will save your batteries. Your engine will not run until you get all the air out of the fuel lines.

If the fuel injector pump is out of calibration, it will have to be removed and bench calibrated after a bebuild job.

I had a similar problem and just happened to unplug the temperature sensor for the computer and the engine started running smooth.
So I replaced the temperature sensor and all was well!

Sounds like your timing belt is stretched or stretching when it's under stress. Check your timing and start thinking about needing to get that or the Timing belt adjuster changed. Also run a bottle of injector cleaner through your system.
