Blower quits when going up hill or on first accelertion

When I have the heat or air on, it blows fine until I go uphill or am first accelerating from a stop. It quits blowing and when I let off the gas or level out, it starts blowing again.

sorry wrong question. i think your problem is the control cable assembly for the heater flap needs adjusting. there usually under the dashboard passenger side. if you buy a manual you should be able to find a pic and locate it.

1995 S-10, when going uphill or accelerating my AC blows out the defrosters when backing off it comes out the vents again

It is almost certainly due the drop in manifold vacuum when climbing hills or accelerating. Back in my youth windshield wipers stopped when you stepped on the gas.

Air stops blowing when going up a hill. the blower is running

You probably have a vacuum controlled mode switch and there may be a vacuum leak in the engine compartment that is causing your system to default to defrost when engine vacuum is low (such as when accelerating or going uphill). See if you can find the vacuum line that comes from the engine intake manifold to your heater control panel, make sure the hose isn't loose or cracked at the manifold. The vacuum line is a small plastic line that comes out of the firewall and goes to the engine. Also check out any other hoses in the area. If all of these are OK, it may be that your mode switch is leaking a bit. If you have questions, please let me know.

Just bought it....seems to run fine, no over-heating or smoking, 232000 miles...paid 400 bucks...owner says it is a daily driver, even occacional long distance driver.......no problems....my test drive,...

Try changing the fuel filter. If it's been there awhile it's probably starting to clog and won't be able to flow enough fuel for the heavier demands the car has when going uphill or trying to accelerate hard.

The AC stops blowing air for a while and then re-start working normaly.

Have you noticed that the AC quits blowing cold air when you are heavy on the throttle, or climbing a hill? Does it return to blowing cold air when you let back off the throttle and relieve the load from the engine?

If you answered YES to those questions, your AC is operating normally. AC compressors take quite a bit of power from the engine to operate. In vehicles with smaller engines, the AC compressor will disengage when there is a heavy demand for power placed on the engine, and you will not get cold air. When that demand is gone, it re-engages power to the AC compressor.

2009 Toyota Camry problems

All Toyota auto trans cars downshift when descending a hill when you tap the brake. This is called "Downhill Shift Logic"; what this is for is to eliminate the double shift when you come to the bottom of a hill and then accelerate. Normal condition. Usually happens above 38 MPH.
Also: The cruise will accelerate when going uphill. Normal condition.Plus: The cruise will not disengage back to the set MPH after you top the hill. Toyota recommends to disengage the cruise when encountering steep terrain.
