All you have to do is carry it to your dealer and have them install there IDS scan tool and access programmable parameters in the smart junction box and turn on the feature.

Here is a copy of a broadcast message from Ford(sorry for the caps I just copied and pasted) on this:
20328 2006-2008 EXPLORER 4DR/MOUNTAINEER/2007-2008 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC - DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION
SOME 2006-2008 EXPLORER 4DR/MOUNTAINEER, AND 2007-2008 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC VEHICLES MAY HAVE CUSTOMERS THAT DESIRE TO ACTIVATE OR DEACTIVATE THE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL). THE FEATURE HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE IDS AND PDS SCAN TOOLS AS A PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETER. THE PROCEDURE IS TO: SELECT MODULE PROGRAMMING FROM TOOLBOX, SELECT PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETERS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS. DRL WILL BE ONE OF THE SELECTIONS WITH ENABLE/DISABLE AS OPTIONS. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A WARRANTABLE REPAIR.

I need to find the location of the DRL relay in a 2006 impala

The DRL - daytime running lamps relay is a PCB type relay - printed circuit board , soldered on the circuit board inside the under hood fuse box. The dealer would tell you that it is non serviceable an you need to replace the whole fuse / relay box. If you know how to solder on circuit boards replacement relay's can be found on the internet . Or if you know how to test electrical circuits ,have a wiring diagram for that circuit you can by pass with a external relay kit.

Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) and Automatic Lamp Control (ALC)
The low beam headlamps are used for DRL operation at a reduced intensity. The DRLs will operate only while the engine is running and the headlamp switch is in the AUTO position. When the DRLs are ON, no other exterior lamps such as the parking lamps, tail lamps, etc. will be on when the DRL are being used. The instrument panel will not be illuminated either.
DRL operation is determined by the ambient light sensor and controlled by the body control module (BCM). The ambient light sensor is a light-sensitive transistor used to monitor outside lighting conditions. The BCM provides a 5-volt reference signal to the sensor while ground is provided at G202. The sensor will vary this voltage signal between 0.2 and 4.9 volts depending on outside lighting conditions. The BCM monitors the ambient light sensor signal circuit to determine if outside lighting conditions are correct for either DRL or ALC operation. When the BCM determines the conditions are met for DRL operation, it applies ground to the DRL relay control circuit energizing the DRL PCB Relay. With the relay energized, battery voltage is applied through the switch side of the relay, the DRL 1 fuse, a resistor wire to the DRL 2 fuse, both low beam headlamp fuses, and the low beam supply voltage circuits illuminating the headlamps at a reduced intensity. Any function or condition that turns on the headlamps will cancel DRL operation.
When the BCM detects low light conditions, it will turn OFF the daytime running lamps and turn ON the low beam headlamps as described above in Low Beam Headlamp Operation. The BCM will also turn ON the low beam headlamps in daylight conditions when the windshield wipers are turned ON.

Your best bet mite be to have a qualified repair shop check it out ,could DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the BCM - body control module . Like this one

My running lights are not working is there a fuse box inside the car

You have 3 fuses you need to inspect. All are under the hood in the power distribution relay box. Fuse first is the head main relay its a 30 amp fuse inspect to make sure its not open. You will also have a right hand lamp fuse and a left hand lamp fuse. Inspect and make sure they are not open. If all the fuse are good and your daytime running light are still non operation you can narrow it down to the daytime running light module. If this module sees a parking brake switch engage the daytime light will not operate.

My daytime running lights wont come on

The Daytime Running Lamps module is bad or check underhood fuse block for blown fuse.

Are the daytime running lights on this vehicle the amber ones or white ones? Are they the headlamps or the driving lamps below?

Where is the Daytime driving Lamp relay located

follow the wires to the drl relay. It must be inline from the regular light switch to the headlamps. I have a 1990 Cadillac Deville that has an aftermarket module that controls the daytime running lamps, and it is mounted on the driver's side wheel well.

Some relays are found in the fuse box under the hood.

If your daytime running lamps burnt out, take it to an electrical shop and ask them to check it out.

If you buy an aftermarket daytime running lamp kit, they can install it for you.

But, I agree, you should check for voltage and function at the relay for the daytime running lamps on your Astro.

But, if all else fails, the electrical shop should be able to diagnose and repair this problem.

FUSE OR LIGHT ISSUES

If you purchased your vehicle in the States, it is not equipped with Daytime Running Lamps, you will have to purchase an aftermarket module and have them installed to the parking lamp circuit in order to save the wear on your Xenon bulbs.  Only Canadian models have running lamps standard.  As far as your clock I know that the bulbs in Infiniti clocks are notorious for going bad. You can remove the clock and replace bulbs, but I would check your fuses, there is a fuse panel down in the drivers floor kick panel. I would suggest doing a google search for G35 manual and you can probably find some site that has a PDF version you can download for free.
