2003 Honda Accord radio keeps on running when engine turned off

I have a 2003 Honda Accord
When driving the radio sometimes shuts off and then comes on after a few minutes. It also keeps on playing even thought the car is parkes without the ignition key . twice it had drained the battry .I had to jump start the car. Can yoy tell me how I can resolve the problem?

I have same problem a little more advanced. My Accord has 220000 miles and the radio doesn't come right back. I turn off radio when I leave car to prevent battery drain. The radio emmits a loud screaching sound that sometimes takes a while before I can get radio to play. I have had success in getting radio to play by punching the on/off volume control

Should be covered under a recall. But they are very strict about the exact problem and I got swindled out of 500 bucks. The radio should be replaced as it will turn itself on and off - even the volume! Bit disconnect radio means you disconnect the panel, too.

I'm thinking you might have a problem with wiring - either a bad connection, or worn/cracked insulation that is causing an intermittent short-circuit. I'd recommend a thorough electrical check of your radio wiring harness.

Final solution was installing an aftermarket Sony player and unplugging the wire to the OEM radio. The only problem was this also disconnected power to the lights on the panel. This is a recall that Honda has never been appropriately charged with not enforcing and has cost consumers millions overall, in my view.

Honda Accord check engine flashes when tapping brakes

Engine light flashing along with the drop on RPMs is indicative of misfires. Connect a scan tool and see if any codes are stored this may give you a starting point. As for the clicking I'm not sure that it is related to the engine light but clicking when braking may be due to worn suspension/steering parts such as control arm bushings

I have had this problem on two separate honda accords. Can you keep the engine running if you turn the key to start and then let the key come back just a little? I have had two faulty switches. I could keep the engine running but I had to hold the key between run and start position.

My radio and c/d player will just shut off out of

There is a factory default with the radio circuit board in radios installed in 2003-2004 Honda Accords. Honda will replace or repair the radio free of charge on and extended warranty. The radio will eventually fail for good. I know, as the one in my 2004 Accord failed in March of this year. My Honda dealer replaced the radio with a reconditioned unit absolutely free. Contact you local Honda dealer.

1991 honda accord lx cooling fan

Some vehicles have sensors that can control the electric fan with the ignition off to keep the heat buildup that naturally occurs right after turning off the engine. This can prevent hard starting that can happen with a hot engine. If it is doing this an abnormal amount, the sensor that is operable with the ignition off may be failing. Before turning off the ignition, check to see if the engine temperature is pushing the 'red zone;' if it is, then the fan operation may be normal but your engine may be running hot.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord LX. The radio keeps going off and on

My 2003 Accord LX does the same thing. It started about 6mo ago and it becomes more and more often. I just went outside to kick the off from inside the wheel wells and the stereo came on.

Honda Accord 2003 Battery blink and steering jam

When your battery light comes on while your car is running, it indicates that your charging system has stopped functioning (as least while the light is on). It is recommended that if that happens, you should immediately turn off any electrical loads (AC, heater, wipers, radio, etc.) that you can do without, and get to a place where your charging system can be checked. The engine will not run for very long with the battery not getting a charge.
Hope this helps you understand the problem.
