Happens on and off.....right now my hatch will be locked sometimes, sometimes it's open and when I can open it, there is a constant clicking of the locking mechanism. When this happens, my window hatch won't open, my defogger won't work, my wiper won't work either. It shuts down everything.

I have this same problem currently...did you find anything out about it?

Have you checked the wire harness that goes between the hatch and the body? The constant opening and closing weakens the wires. Could also be the ground wire, I believe is inside the hatch. It could have come undone. If you have an owners manual, it should guide you to the defogger fuse. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Could be the latch mechanism for the door is sticking. You could try using some white grease on the latch and the contact where the latch hooks to. You can purchase the grease from most auto parts stores. You will not need to use alot. Just apply a small amount to the mechanisim and then work it in using the manual handle. Then open and close the door several times to feel the "action". Then apply a little more and repeat. This should loosen the latch and get it working again. Also make sure that none of the tension springs have come loose on the latch. And check the seal around the door and make sure it is not pinched and has a proper fit.

Hi,
I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. Though, i love to see people following DIY and repair the car themselves, however i hate when people swap the parts on the basis of speculation. I agree that most probable reason could be LGM, though few other possibilities could be there.Unfortunately, the way we test it is to verify it is getting signals using the Scan tool
and to verify the power, ground and the data communications. Often the
tests are more to verify everything else works because there is often no
individual test for the module.
The other reason, i would advise you to take the car to the dealer, as even though it turns out to be a problem, a replacement liftgate module requires software programming to work correctly.
I don't have the exact price, liftgate modules around 300.00 dollars, it
cost about $150.00 to replace and program. you wont probably be able to
do this yourself. requires some special programming tools to do.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
