Would a faulty DIM on a volvo affect turbo function...p0234?
I ran an OBD test, code p0234 came up..noticed the dash display (DIM) was not working. would the replacement of the DIM solve the turbo overboost problem?

What the P0234 code means. P0234 is a generic OBD-II code that is triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that the intake boost pressure sensor input signals intake pressure above the maximum specified pressure by 4 psi for more than 5 seconds.

The symptoms displayed for a P0234 code will depend on the cause of the overboost condition: The service engine soon or check engine light will illuminate. You will experience a loss of power. P0234 is over boost detected.Trouble code P0234 indicates the power train control module senses a dangerously high boost pressure from the engine's forced induction system. Levels of boost over recommended levels can harm engine.

According to Volvo P0234 is a turbo control valve. Maybe a wiring issue? Did you do a hard reset after clearing the code? hope this helps!
Did you test all the parts befor fitting ? Faulty parts would need to be replaced , have you wired the lights independently ? If so it shouldn't affect the CCM.

P0234 Engine Overboost Condition
If you have a non-turbo model, then it's probably something else. It may be a bad turbo overboost switch. My S80 is non-turbo but I had an overboost switch go out on my Mercedes and it shut down the turbo but I had the same error message. Good luck!
