Overboost could be caused by anything from a faulty TCV, split hose or dirty MAP sensor. A replacement DIM won't change the running of the engine.

Turbo overboost po234. how to correct?

p0234 is engine over boost condition. According to Volvo P0234 is a turbo control valve. Maybe a wiring issue?

Did you test all the parts befor fitting ? Faulty parts would need to be replaced , have you wired the lights independently ? If so it shouldn't affect the CCM.

This is what my code scanner says:
P0234 Engine Overboost Condition
If you have a non-turbo model, then it's probably something else. It may be a bad turbo overboost switch. My S80 is non-turbo but I had an overboost switch go out on my Mercedes and it shut down the turbo but I had the same error message. Good luck!
