Test Voltage @ the back of alternator, and all grounds to body and engine.
If you have 14+ @ back of alternator but 12 @ battery the wire off the back (Im talking abought the single larger one) may be broke

Are you sure the alternator isnt "over" charging? if not, you may have a "loose" connection somewhere with the cables, or a malfunction in the dash cluster. Also, are you positive the battery is forsure good?

Drive the car to the auto parts store and have them test the battery and alternator for proper charge. You probably just bought a dud, even though they are new. Doesn't happen much but does happen.

Check the wiring between the alternator and the battery, especially at the battery end there is a fusable link there that might be blown.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MINE. AFTER $400 I REALIZED IT WAS THE FUSE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE ALTERNATOR. IT WAS BROKEN AND WOULD COME LOOSE AT ANY SLIGHT BUMP, THEN IMMEDIATELY KILL THE BATTERY. FIRST THE RADIO WENT OUT THEN THE DASH LIGHTS. ANYWAY I GOT A NEW ONE FOR $40 AND PROBLEM SOLVED. =]
