I drove my 1997 Plymouth voyager one day and then the next morning went out to start it, and it won't fire. It tries to turn over with no luck. We have a code outfit, and it gave us one code, for the upstream O2 sensor. My son changed that and then all it would tell us is "Fuel system #1, open loop drive". It spins over, but doesn't appear to have any spark. Please help.

Generally, if it crank good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse, if your missing everything, I'd check the cam and crank sensor signals. If only one system has a problem, we can check that one system. Could be other issues?

I don't believe your particular vehicle's cooling system needs to be bled during coolant filling, but check the coolant level first. It seems that the coolant level is too low for the sensors to be able to sense the temperature, or the sensors are disconnected. Look for a connector on the intake manifold, near the coolant outlet. Ensure it is properly connected.

SOURCE: Hello, how many o2 sensors on a 93 plymouth

Upstream would be before the Catalitic converter. You need one after, or downstream also. Most v-6 engines will have three (Two upstream, before cat) and one or two downstream. (After cat)

Ignition feed fuse 16 blows when i turn on the key

Hi,
You have a 'short circuit' in the system or a bad ground somewhere. Go online and search on the Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler forums for this issue. I've read about myself but don't recall the common cause.

The car turns over like it is going to start but won't. It is still firing, has good battery, alternator and gas in it. It is a 1996 plymouth neon. Started fine when I went to work this morning, b

tell individual working on it to check the crankshaft sensor voltage and signal when it wont start also check the fuel pressure and cam sensor, these are all possible problem with that particular car. it also has wiring issues that an expert tech would have to diagnose

So it rained here all day yesterday. I drove through a puddle that I didn't see as a threat. Immediately after the power steering went out, battery light came on and van overheated. People are telling me...

Hello

It sounds strange but, there is a single belt that turns most of those things. When the belt gets wet it no longer has the ability to turn the pullys. Sometimes they slip off all together and that it what this sounds like. Raise the hook, and with a flashlight look at the passenger side of the engine. See if you find a belt hanging down there. If not, have some one start the van and make sure everything is turning. If it is, then it will only be a matter of time before things warm up, dry off, and work again.

Best of luck

My 1997 Dodge Avenger's engine won't start

Try cam and/or crank sensor. If crank to cam timing isn't detected properly it'll crank all day but won't start. I had similar problem on my 2.5L V6 Avenger....drove home fine, no engine light, next morning it cranked, but wouldn't start. The crank sensor was faulty.
