Just bought a used 2004 with 255,000km. Overall it runs very well but the AC button recently turned on (light lit) but will not turn off no matter what I do with the other dials. I assume that the AC is working as I get cold air but it is not summer so want to be able to turn off the compressor/AC and save on gas. The temp will go from cold to hot no problem. Fan speeds work. Defrost is NOT on. Can change air direction and that works too. Just the AC button will not go out. Any help? Jerry

my 2002 rsx type s ac did the exact same thing. got to the point that i started hearing a weird noise like stuff clunking around everytime i turned it on. took it into the dealer and they said the compressor just fell apart inside... i had to buy a new one and it wasnt cheap to replace. problem was, the same equipment also played a part in the heating system too... so they told me.

Regarding the heating issue, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open so the coolant isn't heating up. (May need replacement) Does your engine temp guage show it running colder than normal?

There is only one computer. Either the filter still has plastic wrap on it, or there is not air going through squirel cage on fan motor to the vents.

Check the A.C>Relay or It could be low or leaking freon

Check for a blown fuse or a bad relay for the compressor clutch. The clutch electrical winding may be open. When the A/C is switched on, the radiator fan should come on even if the engine is cold. If the clutch latches on and drives the compressor, then the freon charge may have leaked away from a bad compressor seal, or other hole in the system.
