SOURCE: 92' buick riviera has lights, won't start

To isolate the problem you need to clean the relay plug contacts, they are in a enclosed box on the right side of your car,you need to open the hood to check then.

SOURCE: 1995 Buick Riviera SC: traction and the security light

traction switch is located next to drivers left knee on bottom of dash....you should be able to turn off the traction light there by just turning on the traction control.....the security light is telling you that there is a problem with your security system....could just need a new key with a new computer chip....make sure the key is clean and dry when using so it can read the chip....the security light comes on whenever your start the car and stays on for approximatley 2 minutes and then should go out....it is just a reminder....try this and see if it works....lock the door using the power switch on door.....close door and see if the security light comes on....watch and it should go out after about 2 minutes...if it does then your alarm is activated and working....to disarm you need to unlock the driver door with the key...anything else will set the alarm off and the lights will start flashing and the horn honking...after you set the alarm off you will always have to use the key to unlock the drivers door to turn off the alarm and reset the security system.

1986 Buick Riviera dash lights started blinking off and on and interior lights stay on after checking fuses under center console

t sounds like there might be a short circuit somewhere in the electrical system of your 1986 Buick Riviera. This could be causing the battery to drain and the dash lights and interior lights to behave abnormally. I would suggest checking the wiring and connections in the car to see if there is any obvious damage or loose connections. It may also be helpful to use a multimeter to test the electrical system and find the source of the short circuit

How do you take dash cover off on a 1990 Buick Riviera?

Could be an Instrument cluster failure. It's a common problem in 1990 Rivieras. I suggest you take it to an auto mechanic that specializes in electronics.

1990 buick riviera cranks but wont start

Check your fuel pressure; if it is within specs, have a muffler shop test your back-pressure from your catalytic converter. There are other things that can cause strange problems like this but it is a process of elimination.

1995 Buick Riviera, brake lights won't come on except for the one in back window

I am thinking that the brake lamps in the rear taillamps went through the turn signal/hazzard switch. Play with your hazzard switch and see if they start working. If not, check the brake lamp switch with a test light. I believe the high mount stoplamp had a seperate wire than the taillamps for brake lights.

Husband is pretty knowledgeable on cars, but this is a stumper!!! May be an electrical problem. The engine won't crank over. Took starter out, tested it, its good, If you hit the key, lights in dash go...

have you tested the ignition itself (where the key goers in) Typically this is a problem when too much weight (i.e. too may keys, etc) are on the key chain- ignition swithches do not like the added weight.
Best regards

How do you remove the center console for a 1990 buick riviera? I have removed all visible screws and bolts but, the console that is closest to the dash won't budge.

The console snaps in place and the screws holds it in place to keep it from falling out. Just pull kind of hard maybe starting in one corner and when that comes loose you can see how it comes out.

Where is the fuse box on a 1990 Buick Riviera for the interior lights

The fuse block is located under the center of the dash. On the left front
side of the console. I believe you're looking for fuse #2 20amp.
Hope this helps.

Where do I find the light sensor on a 1995 buick riviera

Look on the dash. I believe it's on the passenger side over the glove compartment.
It's easy enought to test. Turn lights to automatic and cover it up. It's time delayed to prevent the
lights from coming on if driving under a bridge.
