Why did the check engine and tcl"off"lights come on after cleaning the engine and engine compartment?

This is not a model we know in North America. You need an auto electrician to connect a pro grade scan tool computer to read the historical code data as to why the Check Engine Light came on. It will also tell which sensor is causing the TCL Light to be stuck on Off.

The "TCL" light has to do with Traction Control (part of the ABS system) the TCL light and the Engine light could be on for the same issue or there are two different problems going on. There is no way to tell unless you own a "Code Reader". This tool will have to be able to view both engine and ABS codes. There are several different Scan-Tools on the market. Mine is from Snap-on tools (Modis). But unless you run a repair shop, this isn't practical. Take your time and look around. Beware of buying a used unit. You may decide that it would be cheaper to just have a shop diagnose it. I'm not sure who you have for local part stores but you could call a few and see if they offer free engine code reading. Their tool isn't as advanced but if their tool will access engine and ABS codes. then they can give you a list of codes that were stored inside the ECU. It would be best that while you have the codes read. That both lights are on. Sometimes the light has to be on in order for the codes to be read. You can then write back with the list of codes. And I can give you a answers to what they mean, possible causes, and parts to check. I hope that helps, good luck.

TCL means Traction Control, and you turn it on and off with a switch. But you did not tell us make, model, or year, so we can't tell you how to turn it off or on.

2 concern for you when check engine light comes on your TCL (traction control) is disabled,so you get the light,and if TCL is disabled so is the ABS (anti lock brakes) you first step is get the Check engine light code,If it was just a TCL light on the ABS code will need to be gathered,You need a scan tool

a system malfuntion & most do require a repair.

You check for codes as soon as you get a check or mil lamp,
that is a well know thing everyone should be doing

Most people just don't know or care to ,as they depend
on a repairs shop to do whatever

TCL is controlled by ABS system,could have an abs sensor going bad. There is alot of things that could cause a misfire,mass air flow sensor could be dirty or need replaced.Best bet is to take to someone with computer that can read what all sensors are doing in vehicle.

TRY CLEANING EGR INTAKE OR EXHAUST MANIFOLD PASSAGES.BECAUSE PASSAGES IS RESTRICTED WITH CARBON BUILD UP.IF PASSAGES NOT RESTRICTED.PROBLEM COULD BE WIRING OR ELECTRICAL OR VACUUM NOT GETTING TO EGR VALVE.OR THE PCM IS FAULTY.

How are your batt. terminals/battery?? Is it all corroded?? If so, clean battery terminals. Also clean all grounds in engine compartment. There are 2 next to the battery, 2 next to the iol fill hole and 2 next to the air box assy. Check and clean. Is the check engine light on?? If you have a throttle problem, check engine light should be ON. Let me know. Oh and how many miles on it??
