Problem solved, after a process of elimination, we determined the fuel gauge was faulty, reading above 1/8th tank, it was in fact out of gas. After achieving startup, the alt. was proven good, and it runs very well. Thank you.Problem solved, after a process of elimination, we determined the fuel gauge was faulty, reading above 1/8th tank, it was in fact out of gas. seen many of these where a dash / interior light is staying on ... if you have a garage / make it dark. then check look to find light in small tight area.........
quite possibly is your ignition key assembly cuts off ,there is a recall on you car ,take it to dealer and they change it for free,it should take about 90 min for them
in theft mode.. the fix..... try to start when eng. dies leave key on for 10 min turn off then on but dont try to start do thes 3 times on the 3rd time veh should start and run.
The problem with running out of gas is, the driver keeps trying to start the engine when the tank is emptyand it burns up the fuel pump. Turn the key on and listen very closely for a hum or buzz coming from the back or underneath the car. This would indicate the pump is running, No soundmay mean the pump is not running. Find the fuel pump relay on the fuse block under the hood and swap it with another relay to see if that has any effect. Also check the fuse panel for a blown fuse. If all else fails, get a can of starting fluid, remove the air filter, and spray the fluid into the intake duct while at the same time craning the starter, The engine should start. If it starts and dies, do this 3 or 4 times. If the engine still wont stay running, you may have to replace the fuel pump.
If you were to turn the ignition off when you are driving it would do the same thing. My guess is that a critical ignition wire is either shorting or coming loose when inertia exists through your left turn.
In park turn the wheel all the way to the left. Did the car die? Try wiggling the red wires connecting through the starter, battery, and such with the engine running. Also try wiggling the wires through the steering column to the ignition.
