Test both the cooling fan relay and the fuse (located under the hood and inside the control module box).

For the inop blower fan, test the switch if the fuse checks out.

most likely, the thermostat needs to be replaced.

if that doesn't fix it, check the water pump

SOURCE: overheating on my acura legend

Ding ding ding ding! You guessed correct, the head gasket is bad. The usual sign for head gaskets gone bad is coolant mixing with the oil on the dipstick but not so on some of the overhead cams. I just finished tearing my 91 acura down after replacing two themostats as advised by a "mechanic with 20 plus years". Its not the water pump I'd say. Its a tough job to do but a possible one if you have some know- how and a ton of patience. If you are going to replace the head gasket, you may as well do the timing belt, waterpump, and the three drive belts. You're half-way there with the motor tore down. Its VERY expensive for a repair shop to do and you may want to check around before getting it done.

SOURCE: cooling fan for acura tl 2000 does not work

If you can locate the temperature switch, looks like a large bolt head with 2 wires on it, bridge the wires on it, and this should make the fan work. If the fan works then this switch is faulty. If the fan doesn't then it could be the fuse, or a broken wire.
The fan switch is either on the radiator or on the thermostat housing.
If you can get to it easy, short across with a screwdriver.

SOURCE: 1999 acura 2.3cl the car is not overheating,

The problem you describe is an indication of a bad head gasket.

Take it to a shop and have them test for this.

My son in law's 96 lincoln t/c has no hot air comming out vents. It looks like the vacumm controls work when you go full cold to full hot(it is all digital control) and the engine is warm. I noticed a...

ok let's start at beginning. with engine running at operating temperature[at least 90 to 120 degrees] or if you don't have a digital engine temperature sensor, at least mid range, be careful and remove radiator cap, add anti-freeze until you see it flowing in the radiator, side to side or any motion also good. if it blows and blows out of the radiator extremely, you have another problem. wish i were there just to help. but you gotta do what you can. is there any fluid or a sweet smell inside the car or a leak under the dash onto the passenger side floorboard? if not, thats a really good thing! no bad heater core leaking into the car. make sure the radiators full!! with engine running, no explosive bubbling from the radiator? great. if so, bad. heater core bad or a bad radiator. thermostat been replaced anytime? in last year or so? maybe that bad. with engine OFF. NOT RUNNING,hood up,grab the engine fan, try to move up and down, fan only ok? if the fan has up and down play, any at all, water pump. leaks from under the car? at center of underneath the engine fan? look for a bad water pump. i know nebraska, brother lived there and alaska also. eeh? wish you the best and hope this helps you greatly! thank you for choosing fixya.com

I have a 1998 Olds Aurora thats been a great car until about 2 weeks ago and then ... problem 1. lights flash off and on when car is off, clicking, buzzing noise coming from steering colum,...

problem 1 could be a loose wire, but if it is failure in the switch it will need to be replaced cleaning is probably not an option. Problem 2 bad gas can cause the stopping at idle speeds add some stp fuel treatment, read label to make sure it dries up water in gas. Fill up after you add the treatment and you will probably be good. problem 3 is tricky. Try turning off the a/c then turn it back on you should hear a little click like sound which should indicate if it is in fact turning on the a/c. If it sounds like it did turn on then turn off a/c and switch to heater or vent mode you should hear what sounds like little doors being closed. If you don't hear a change or heater doesn't blow hot air or your outside air vent doesn't blow cooler/outside temp. air then you may a have a leaking vaccum line or the vaccum unit is not working right.

Chevy 350 runs really hot... i have an 81 cutlass with a stock chevy 350 & for some reason it bogs down like it wants to turn off & gets really hot when im parked idleing for more than 10 minutes...

there must be something restricting the water flow. i would check the houses to make sure there are no sharp turns that dont need to be there. next i would upgrade the water pump to make up for the extra hp.
flushing the block is always a good idea too when adding hp because you never know whats inthere.
