Re: I have a 99 saturn sl2 and juss my driver window wont...
You would check the wires going to the motor at the switch, or at the motor, for power and ground. The switch reverses power and ground for up and down. So one wire going to the motor has power and the other has ground in one direction, and the opposite in the other direction.
Check the gap setting on plugs. Also change the O2 sensor. This is usually the check engine light, or EGR-valve. You could also change it too. Then pull positive battery post off for a minute. THis should reset the computer.
It sounds like there is somthing wrong with the window regulatior ( the motor in the door that moves the window)
1.Remove the inner door pannel (all parts) 2. hook up the window controls & try moving window up or down, make sure window is moving propley in tracks and siscor arms are not bound up.
3.If all is well with the above stuff, just replace the window regulatior and test befor you reasembil the door pannel
Fore remove the door panel in a SL2, you have to take off the door handle. You have to disengage the door
locking mechanism from the door handle, then unscrew the panel and take
it off.
The door handle unhinges from the locks and from the
window controls. If your windows are electric, just unsnap the cord
attached and leave it hanging out.
You may have to work with the door handle as it won't come out of
the slot very easily and you don't have a lot of room. A flat bladed
screwdriver with a long metal piece should work to unsnap it.
ION, L-Series, S-Series 1999-2005 - Window Systems Door Glass & Regulator Power Windows Diagnosis & Testing Driver's Window Switch
Turn the ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the driver window switch.
Test for infinite resistance between the signal terminals A and B
and the B+ circuit terminal E with the passenger window switch in the
INACTIVE position. If less than infinite resistance, replace the driver
window switch.
Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal
terminal A and the B+ circuit terminal E with the passenger window
switch in the UP position. If greater than 2 ohms, replace the driver
window switch.
Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal
terminal B and the B+ circuit terminal E with the passenger window
switch in the DOWN position. If greater than 2 ohms, replace the driver
window switch.
Test for infinite resistance between the signal terminals F and H
and the B+ circuit terminal E with the driver window switch in the
INACTIVE position. If less than infinite resistance, replace the driver
window switch.
Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal

Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal
terminal H and the B+ circuit terminal E with the driver window switch
in the DOWN position. If greater than 2 ohms, replace the driver window
switch.
Passenger's Window Switch
Turn the ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the
passenger window switch. Test for infinite resistance between the
signal terminals G and F and the B+ circuit terminal with the switch in
the INACTIVE position. If less than infinite resistance, replace the
switch.
Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal
terminal G and the B+ circuit terminal with the switch in the UP
position. If greater than 2 ohms, replace the switch.
Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal
terminal F and the B+ circuit terminal with the switch in the DOWN
position. If greater than 2 ohms, replace the switch.
Window Motor
Install a 30-amp fused jumper wire between the control terminal A
and 12 volts. Momentarily install a jumper wire between the control
terminal B and ground. The motor should perform the UP or DOWN function.
If the function does not perform as specified, replace the motor.
Reverse the jumper wires; the motor should perform the DOWN or UP function.
If the function does not perform as specified, replace the motor.
Removal & Installation Window Motor & Regulator
Raise the window to the full UP position.
Remove the upper trim panel.
Remove the manual window regulator handle, if equipped.
Remove the power door lock switch, if equipped.
Remove the pull cup assembly.
Remove the door trim push-in retainers.
Remove the screw from the trim panel.
Pull the bottom of the door trim out to disengage the clips.
Lift up on the door trim panel to disengage the inner belt molding from the door flange.
Remove the door trim panel.
Remove the radio speaker.
Remove the front door water deflector.
Disengage the door glass to the regulator sash channel clips. Separate the door glass from the sash channel.
Push the window to the up position and tape in place.
Loosen the power window regulator bolts.
Remove the rear regulator bolt.
Lift the window regulator, disengaging the loosened bolts from the door.
Disconnect the regulator electrical connector.
Remove the power window regulator from the door.
To install:
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Window Switch
Using a flat-bladed tool, pry the switch from the door trim panel enough to expose the locking tabs.
Press the locking tab to remove the switch from the door trim panel.

Sounds like your drivers side window regulator motor gear is bad as far as the other windows drivers door switch is most likely bad if you dont have experience working on electrical or have never taken apart a door panel I would recommend seeing a mechanic. To check the switch you have to disassemble passenger door panel accesa the window regulator motor disconnect the weatherpack connect hook up multimeter and test for power while having an assistant push the window switch down
If its anything like my 99 Saturn SL2 was, the linkage probably just slipped apart. If you take the door panel off and trace the linkage from the handle, there should be a couple points where the metal rod has a 90 degree bend and slips into a sleeve. Just check that all the linkages are together.
It could be and most likely is the power window motor is bad. Since the driver's side is the one used most often it is the first one to go bad. I would also check the power window switch also to see if it is receiving and giving power to the motor.
Front door remove the mirror first, from the inside out small panel comes off with a screw and two or three large nuts are exposed. Both doors remove the exterior door handle, lift it up and you will see two pins which can be pushed out and then the handle comes off. Get a star driver and remove ALL the bolts holding the plastic panel onto the door frame. Lower the window and lift the panel up and away, gently.
