Disconnect power, use channel locks to hold back side of cylinder. Use a straight screwdriver and use it in the wedges to turn the cylinder. Pull cylinder out and replace.

The OBD2 receive power from the cig lighter fuse. Sometimes coins or other metal fail in the lighter.remove phone chargers lighter and inspect the socket for debris. If nothing inside unplug the lighter, inspect the truck and find replacement socket.

Cigarette lighter socket came out, no charging

You probably pulled the wiring plug off the back of the socket. Or the fuse went when the socket came out.

I uninstalled the battery on my 2007 GMC sierra. I had the battery tested and it was fine, so I was told. I replaced the battery and now I have no power what so ever. Is there something else I have to do...

After you read this, tell everyone you know, not to disconnect the battery on late model vehicles, without first inserting a low voltage device into the cigarette lighter socket. Otherwise they will accomplish what you did. Killed the car!!!

What you inadvertantly did was arm the anti-theft system. I dont like being the bearer of bad news, so call your favorite GM dealer and they will tell you all about what it will take to bring your truck back to life.

Electrical problem Cadillac

If there is no power to the sockets, changing the bulb wont correct the problem. Check all fuses. Check for current to the tailight. Check for ground to the tailight. Repair as nesessary.
Check cigarette lighter filament. It may be faulty. Check inside cigarette lighter socket. It may have a foreign material in it causing the short.

4 wheel drive gmc sierra 1500 1993. the cigarette lighter, radio and inside cab light suddenly don't work. is there a relay or fuse in engine compartment i could look at?

your fuse panel is either under the dash by the drivers left knee or on the side of the dash where it meets the door. the radio fuse should be the second from the top right side of the fuse panel. its a 10 amp fuse. the power for the switch should be a 16 gauge wire run from the passenger firewall (under hood.) behind a plastic cover where a lot of wires are bolted to posts. that red wire feeds power to almost everything in the cab. it runs behind the glove box and has a disconnect there. if the fuse is not bad and the wire looks good, check the ground on the passenger door "open switch" (the one that is supposed to turn on the dome light. that is where the whole system is grounded for the int. lights lights
