2003 Grand Caravan. 160000, km. When i used the right turn signal the washer pump started (not the wipers though)-- never happened again for a week. then it happened again only it drained the resevoir. Now if there is anything in the resevoir it is sprayed out as soon as the van is turned on. obviously a short or electronic control problem... any thoughts? I've already replaced the electronic control module ( 2 years ago - $1100.00) and the airconditioner, ( 1-1/2 years ago and $1000.00) if this problem is electronic, what would be a guestamit for repair.
Thanks,
Rick
Which electronic control module did you replace ? The washer pump is controlled by the front control module . Located in the integrated power module . Fancy name for the under hood fuse / relay box.
Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? How to read one ? Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams . http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info . year ,make ,model an the engine size . Under system click on body & accessories , then under subsystem click on wiper/washer .Then click search an a link will pop up . Click on it , second diagram you'll see you front washer pump an the module that controls it .There could be a short to ground on the brown wire , or a problem inside the fuse box . Did they confirm no power to motor itself? I assume they did. Did they remove harness from module & clean all connections to it, and try again? Did you by any chance call dealer to confirm price of new, or call local auto recyclers for price and availability on a used one? In my experience these are not a common thing to go, but maybe one of the other techs here can jump in and give their opinion or experience on it.

it sounds like you have faulty ignition switch

It sounds like your multifunction switch is faulty and will need to be replaced. The multifunction switch is a combination of your signal and wiper/washer switches all in one unit and is not servicable and is replaced as a whole unit .
