SOURCE: locating the starter on 1998 Lexus GS400

sets below the intake manifold and takes about 5 hours to replace even if you are handy with cars it is a big job to take on.after doing over 50 or more for an old recall it still takes me about 2 hours to complete.

smell the trans fluid if it stinks its time to change, change the filter and do a pressure flush to make sure all bad fluid is gone.

98 gs 4oo codes p1346 the car shakeing when in drive and when i slow down

it is a variable valve timing performance code. it could have a bad actuator solenoid, a bad cam actuator, low oil pressure or clogged passages, a wiring to control solenoid problem, or a bad controller. most often it is an actuator solenoid at fault.

Computer analysis showed these codes... P0330 P1133 P1135 P1346 P1349 P1351 P1354. can anyone tell me what each of these mean?

P0330 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit (Bank 2)
P1133 Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Circuit Response Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
P1135 Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
P1346 VVT Sensor Range/Performance Problem (Bank 1)
P1349 VVT System Malfunction (Bank 1)
P1351 Variable Valve Timing / CMP Sensor Range / Performance
P1354 Variable Valve Timing System Fault

NOTE:Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor is also known as camshaft position sensor.
The Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system controls intake valve timing in response to driving conditions.

Possible causes are:
  1. Incorrect valve timing P1346, P1349, P1351 & P1354
  2. Faulty oil control valve P1346, P1349, P1351 & P1354
