We just bought the car yesturday and maybe got 10 mins down the road and stopped at a gas station. When I got back in the car to start it up it wouldn't start... however after paying someone to tow it to my house I tried to start it this morning, at first it did the same thing it wanted to start but wouldn't catch, so I tried again and it started up turned it off and on a few times.. what could the issue be?
Ignition Module
Fuel Pressure Bad
Fuel Filter Plugged
Bad Compression
Blocked Air Intake
Clogged Air Filter
Air filter doesn't look to bad neither does the housing.. i will have to research the fuel filter to see where it is on the car as i said we just got it hopefully it is something I can do myself. I have some other people telling me it could be a sensor as well.. could that be it?
The Sensor's give Input to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) ... Or the Computer.. So yes, any sensor could be doing it. but my experience is the list I gave you
Ok thank you. My husband says that the list you gave should be easy for him to do. I will let you know how everything works out.

someone "masicured"? Maybe you mean Massacred? Under the hood? LOL. OK, maybe mice got under your hood and chewed all the wires since it would be weird and hard for someone to get under the hood. That's what happened to ours.
This is not the fuel pump. It sounds like the computer is not setting the proper fuel mixture.

the starter it self......if it doesnot crank it is the starter........
the starter probably has one or two chipped teeth..."if you can try going under ur car and remove the starter......

it sounds like your gearshift cable is broken..if you can jack up vehicle and support it safely, get someone to move shifter and look on driver's side of transmission and see if linkage is moving on trans..linkage is up near top of trans..i have seen this problem before

Three things make the engine run. Air, fuel, spark. One or more of those is not present and the engine stops.pull a plug wire off, put a screwdriver in the end, have a friend turn over the engine while u hold the screwdriver near a metal part of the engine(dont touch the wire or screwdriver) look to see if there is a blueish white spark. If no then u have to trouble shoot the ignition. if yes... take off the air filter, spray some starter fluid in the air entrance and try to start. If it starts u have a fuel problem.
If the car has high mileage the timing belt could have broke
