If your parking on an incline, that would possibly cause it plus switch at brake pedal may need to be adjusted. If you find pushing harder on brake pedal helps, have it adjusted, or replaced.
Rock Auto sells the steel part for this also, and fairly cheap...had to put one in an 07 charger a few years ago....now my journey is doing the same thing. I took the gear shift plate off and reached down in there with screwdriver and pulled up on the plastic lever and it let me shift outta park. So, with that being said....hope it's just this part that I need. My dash lights and, traction and that other light is on and won't go out,so not sure. But at least I can get it in gear.
sound like a pebble between the brake pad and rotor it may scour the rotor i would have the brake caliber pulled and checked maybe put new pads on if more than 30 thousand miles
the abs warning light bulb could be blown.but take car to garage have abs code scan to make sure abs brakes system is working correctly to be on the safe side.
