I first disconnected the battery to carry on with some minor maintenance on my 2004 nissan pathfinder. When connected it back, I turned the cd player on and was asking for code. Aparently I mistankely pressed a buttom and an ''error'' sign came up. I havent been able to reset it and have the option to re-enter the code.

Did you disconnect the battery when you were working on it? I have got into a car a few times and tried to start it not remembering that i had the battery unhooked. Also the battery could have ran flat while you were working on it. If you rule all of that out, then i would go and check the fusible links. They are large fuses located near the battery.

Do the headlights work ? Is the battery charged ? You would have a neutral safety switch between the starter solenoid and the key switch. You should have voltage on the small wire from the key when you turn the key to start. Also check the ground cable from the battery to the engine or frame.
well if its the same as a diesel version then no problem as its under the bonnet ,just disconnect and change it then put code back into radio and away you go ,Never seen a petrol version to be honest as we cannot afford to run them here in europe with our fuel prices
get a new positive cable, clean the battery post well and tighten both ends of the cable end snug.
the other end no doubt attaches to the top of the starter.
with a bad connection at the cable end you are not getting a good charge either. I would get a new dealer cable, not a parts store generic one. That way the connectors are correct and you do no splicing.
first u need to check if they did any welding to ur car if so did they disconnect the battery if not then whoever did ur muffler probally ower u a new computer for ur car
