With the tensioner pulled tightly, the belt will not fit over all the pulleys
Routing can be a problem, wrong belt can be also as stated before. I had to take replace the idler pulley which i recommend doing when replacing the belt. I routed the belt then placed it into the idler pulley then slid the idler pulley onto the boss that that the idler pulley tightens onto. I thought it was the routing even took the belt back, but when i did the above I was done in 5 minutes after spending an hour an a half.
You have either one of two problems. Either the routing you have is wrong, or the parts replacement belt is the wrong size. Check your routing and if its correct then recheck the replacement belt size. Parts guys tend to get those numbers mixed up from time to time... Good Luck!
