Whirring sound after long drives 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

After long drives, my 2006 Chrysler Town & Country makes a whirring noise. I figure it is a fan belt or something. I have to be driving for at least 30 minutes to get it to make the sound. What do you think?

It is your power steering pump. The solution is to replace the P/S fluid resevoir and fill or flush the system.

Power steering reservour may have plugged screen. Fluid flows better when warmer weather thus, no noise of starving power steering. Have a look at this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QjBLYltLYY

Error codes P2503 & P0441 and OBD light on.

Different problems here.
Code 2503 can be charging system low or a problem with the AIR pump system (emissions) If the code is for the charging system it could have set if the engine was run without a belt.
Code 441 is a problem with the EVAP emission system which checks the fuel tank for leaks. A faulty gas cap or running the engine with the cap off can set this code.
I would clear the codes and drive the van to see if they come back.
The noise could be a bearing in the water pump or other accessory that is failing.

Power steering making a whirring noise

If it is making the noise when turning the wheel while stationary or parallel parking, then the fluid level may be low.

If it is not low then the pump itself is wearing out if it has a grinding noise.

Changing the power steering pump is recommended.

Good luck on this repair.

1996 Chrysler Town & Country won't start

If you have fire, then it's probably a fuel problem. Turn the key to the on position, you should hear a 'whirring' sound from the gas tank, which is the fuel pump. This sound will only last a few seconds , but should indicate that the fuel pump is working. If no sound, check the fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay, and the fuel pump itself . Good luck.
