SOURCE: Loss of brake pressure

you might check your brake fluid. if it looses preasure than regains it after a second it may be low on fluid allowing air to get into the lines. you might need to blled the breaks to get all the air out of the line. if you need instructions on how to do that let me know.

Sway bar links are also part of the suspension that you really can't feel while driving. If you're handy enough take your front wheel off and you'll see a bar passing through to each side of your front suspension. It is connected to the lower control arm by sway bar links. The links have ball joints enclosed by rubber boots with grease. Eventually this grease will come out or the boots will tear and you'll hear metal on metal while force is applied. These are fairly cheap to buy yet you may have some trouble getting them off without air tools. If you try to do it your self i'd suggest spraying the bolts down with some lubrication.

Any ideas where the vacuum brake pump is located on an ldv maxus 2.5/ some say its inside some say its bolted to the outside HELP

Unless it's a diesel engine, there is no vacuum pump. All vacuum on a gasoline engine comes strait from the engine vacuum thru vacuum lines. Check that all these lines are connected and in good condition not cracked or broken.

When i press the brake pedal on my 2003 chevy tahoe there is a loud whooshing sound, what is causeing this?

You have a bad vacuum booster. The diaphragm in the booster is ruptured resulting in vacuum loss and no power assist to the brakes. Do not drive in this condition, loss of control (stopping) hazard exist.. Replace Power Brake Booster. Since replacement of the booster requires removal of the master cylinder, replace the master cylinder as well, It is old (2003) and time for replacement

Is the pump faulty?

abs units only maintain the brake line pressure as set by the brake pedal position and application pressure during wheel lock up prevention
If it activated on it's own accord both rear brakes would have come on if not all 4 wheels
the default action in the event of abs failure is to loose the abs action during wheel lock up and not to lock brakes
Run the fault codes to check for ABS circuit/ sensor problem
discuss the problem with an accredited brake specialist shop as I suspect a problem that is not really connected to the ABS system

Low brake vacuum

probably you have internal vacuum leak, check the pipe from engine to the brake booster, if its ok then the booster will be faulty

Vacuum pump hoses

if the hose is about 1/2 inch and about afoot long and has oil inside of it probably is an oil return line back to the sump. If it is clean inside it will go to a item requiring vacuum like a governor or a brake booster.

Help!!! how to reset a LDV Maxus key fob?

Hi
I know from experience that you cannot really re synch these fobs on the LDV Maxus vans.
What actually is the fault is an onboard component on the pcb has failed and we normally just replace that with a new one..the fob will be tested for operation and sent back. OR its the Relay in the ESA unit - under the left hand front glovebox on the bulkhead - black with cables going into it. We have those relays (soldered to the pcb) we can supply those or do the work for you. The fob connects to that ESA and the unit then fires the relays to open/close the doors. Sometimes that unit is installed upside down which causes water (condensation) to enter the box and have fun with your electrics.
The fob is SYNCHED to this unit via coding we can use your old fob to clone to a new fob and that will work with the ESA and the vehicle.
We have the parts on this link Items for sale from remobilise ltd

Here is a link to how to program the fob to the vehicle via the programmer - NOTE how you MUST have a working fob to program another (text at the start of the video... LDV Maxus flv

We can fix most problems on the LDV Maxus that occur with faults to do with the Central locking/fobs/ESA/ETACS - three relays are in the ESA and they control ONLY the central locking - two more relays are in the ETACS unit (behind the ashtray) and they control the fogs and intermittant wipers.

After we jump my car and take the cables off we touch the brakes and it shuts off. Why?

Your alternator is not charging or the battery is faulty. The load of the brake lights is draining the battery of the minimum charge needed to keep the engines computer running properly. If you turn on another high drain electrical item, like high beam head lights it will do the same.

Another possibility is a faulty power brake booster; applying the brakes would cause a loss of engine vacuum if the booster were faulty-this is far less likely..but possible.

Hello, I have a brake problem with my 2000 model turbo diesel jackaroo, when the brake pedal is pressed as hard as possible the pedal seems to come to a hard stop with not very effective braking, hope you...

It appears that you have lost the vacuum assistance that works the power booster for the brakes. It is most likely that the vacuum hose that connects from the vacuum pump (which is usually located on the rear of the alternator) to the power booster has gone hard and split where the hose attaches to the metal piping. Check the hose for leaks or splits and re-terminate or replace as necessary. If the hose is OK then the problem could be that the vacuum pump is faulty or the rubber diapraghm inside the power booster has become faulty and developed a leak. A brake specialist would be the best option to sort out these latter problems.
