SOURCE: I need an iac pigtail for a Nissan Maxima 2001

Call the local Nissan dealer, if you have someone in the parts department that cares, they can look at an iac or a picture of an iac and match up from their limitless wall of pigtails.

There is no catalog guide for these. (or anything else Nissan that I've found)

I just had a starter replaced on my 2001 Nissan Maxima and now it makes a noise like an electric motor is still running but when I remove the ENG CONT 2 fuse,it stops,what could this noise possibly be

Unplug the IAC. Does the noise go away? If so you probably have a bad PCM (computer) and IAC. Possibly bad wiring to IAC. IF noise does not go away unplug starter, does noise go away?

Where is the iac located in the engine compartment of a 2000 nissan maxima?

The iac is located on your tb. It has a brown and a green connector going into it. Its the green one. The brown one is for throttle position. Just know once u remove it. Only nissan can program it back to factory settings. Unless u are good with a multimeter

Can a iac for 2001 nissan maxima be cleaned?

Get a second opinion. That is some crazy money to spend, but you should have expected that from a luxury model like the Maxima. I am surprised that a 2001 model would need the IAC programmed, but it could be. I would want a second opinion.

Nissian path finder 2000 code p0505

That is idle air control (IAC) system malfunction,it's causes may include:
IAC motor connector is damaged (check connector and pins for damage, and moisture);
One or more IAC circuits open or shorted to ground;
One or more IAC circuits are shorted to voltage;
IAC has failed; or PCM has failed
You can clearing the fault codes. Then unplug the IAC and start the engine. If the P0505 code doesn't reset, replace the IAC. It is internally shorting one of the IAC circuits. If the code DOES return after unplugging the IAC and starting the engine, then you know it isn't the IAC motor. Visually check the wiring harness all the way back to the PCM. You may need to visually inspect the harness by removing all the insulation off the wires. It is possible that the wires could be shorting to eachother or to other wires in the harness.

Hope this helpful.

2001 Nissan Maxima computer fried, any recalls?

Iac valves short out and fry the computer. Be sure to check and replace the Idle air control valve if needed. If not replaced the computer will fry. Generally it costs less to program a used one than get a new one.

Can a cam sensor cause a hard start

Yes, cam sensor can cause a hard starting condition, but not that common on a 2000 maxima. I haven't replaced single one on a 2000 Max and I have one also (maxima that is) . Never had any problem with cam or crank sensors. I think that your problem is somewhere else, like IAC valve circuit. Just a tip. Its kinda hard to diagnose something over the computer, without Consult2 (Nissan scanner) beeing hooked up to the car and seeing what the car is doing while cranking for my self.

Dies on idle speed,not all the time but some times

Yeap, I would look in the area of IAC valve. However, be carefull. If your Maxima has A/T trans, than your car is set up with ECM (computer) controled engine mounts (electronic engine mounts, which move depending on engine load) to optimize vahicles performance. Those engine mounts seize up and BURN OUT the DRIVER in your ECM (computer) for the IAC circuit, resulting in car dying at times. So, if your car has A/T trans, check your engine mounts for operation with CONSULT2 (nissan based scanner). If mounts are OK, than I would look at the IAC valve and IAVL re-learn along with closed throttle position re-learn. Good luck.
