So tell me does a vapour lock ,comes from a hole in the muffler,and would that make a cranking sound come from your engine

To promote easy starting, all gasolines contain volatile constituents that under some conditions, such as high ambient temperature, tend to produce more vapor than the fuel-system vents can handle. The action of an engine-mounted fuel pump, in decreasing the pressure at its inlet, tends to vaporize the fuel. If the vapor forms faster than the pump can draw it from the fuel line, the flow of fuel to a carburetor is effectively stopped and the engine stalls. Vapor lock is much less likely on a fuel-injected engine with an electric pump in the fuel tank. However, an engine with port fuel injection may experience vapor lock if the injector or fuel overheats, or if the Reid vapor pressure of the fuel is too high.

The oil pressure dropped in my car because of hole in the oil pan the motor then shut off and will not turn over.is there a sensor that shuts it off or is it possible it locked up


Some vehicles do have an oil lvl sensor that will shut the engine off if the lvl falls to unsafe. The sensor should be located on the oil pan itself. If the hole has been fixed and the pan is full of oil, this should not be an issue. If the hole has not been fixed, the engine has no business running anyway. you can tell of the engine is locked up by putting a socket and ratchet on the main crank pulley bolt and seeing if the engine will turn.

Leaky muffler type sound from engine when under a load


check for a leaking manifold gasket or cracked manifold. If it is a front wheel drive car there may be a flexible bit near the engine to allow the engine to move in the mounts . This bit of flexible exhaust is known to crack under the brading.

Changed injector o ring and now it wont turn over like it vapor locked


A vapour lock will not stop and engine from turning over but a hydraulic lock will . The difference is vapour compresses , fuel doesn't. Remove the spark plugs and wind the engine over to clear fuel that has leaked into the combustion chambers .

Sounds like ignition problem - I would first check the plug wires carefully for cracks, routing problem (flashing to engine), and incorrect order, and if all OK then check the plugs for contamination/incorrect gapping.

2010 Intrepid leaking fluid (not oil) from rear end coming from above the muffler inner side?


First thing I would do is make sure that the fluid you are seeing is not brake fluid but I suspect you would notice a spongy brake pedal. If not then it sounds like what you are seeing is probably water leaking out of the weep hole in the muffler. Modern day catalytic convertors are designed to reduce the emissions coming from the engine into carbon dioxide and water before it leaves the tail pipe. Occasionally this water will condense inside the muffler and leak out of the weep hole. What you are witnessing is most likely normal operation for the vehicle.

Water comes out muffler


I safely assume that this car runs on gas not diesel. When you burn gasoline, as well as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and a whole host of other noxious gases, you get water, produced as a gas (vapour). When this water vapour meets a cooler surface (the inside of your muffler system) it condenses into liquid water and will continue to condense until the surfaces around it give it sufficient energy (via heat) to convert it back to gas.

When you start a car, the water vapour turns to water in your muffler, the pressure of the expanding gases of combustion push the water along with it towards an area of lower pressure (outside the muffler via your tailpipe). Until your muffler system warms up, you WILL get water from your tailpipe.

ASSUMING that your engine is running sweetly, that is, if it is running like a bag of old nails, then you may have a cylinder head gasket (seal) problem. If so, take it to the Honda shop.

This seems to be a classic case of "disentegrating exhaust system syndrome." There is either a hole(s) somewhere in your exhaust system or there is a leak somewhere. Probably the easiest way to tell where the noise is coming from is to start your car and just listen around in the engine bay, under the car, and at the muffler. Also do a visual inspection of the exhaust system to see if you can see any holes in the piping. I have also seen hairline cracks in the exhaust header itself that can cause the loud ticking noise that can be a little tricky to track down.

Will not start on hot day's in the sun.[engine cranks normal]


The normal reason why a hot engine doesn't start is the choke. Your fancy new range rover will have a computer controlled choke that will be activiated by a temperature sensor. maybe this has failed or is disconnected
In my ancient range rover I have a manual choke but essentially the same engine. I know that if the motor is hot I can't start it with the choke on.
The way the choke works is it restricts the airflow into the engine so that there is a richer fuel / air mixture which is needed for a cold start. If the engine is hot and the choke comes on the engiine floods with petrol and there isn't enough oxygen for it too ignite in the cylinders. To start a flooded engine you have to open the choke and crank the motor without pressing the accelerator. This pumps out the petrol vapour and eventually it will fire and start. If the computer thinks it is cold because of a disconnected or faulty sensor it will put on the choke whenever you try and start and the engine will flood.
I think a vapour lock is unlikely unless you driving in extremely hot weather (above 40 degrees celsius).
