P1193 is an intake air temp code, there is a sensor somewhere within the filter box or the intake tube (large rubber tube running to the intake) with a plug that normally has two wires. You can remove the sensor and clean it (this will sometimes fix the problem) or replace it. You should reset the codes to verify the fix.

SOURCE: Code

The code is for the inlet air temp sensor voltage high. Check and make sure the sensor is plugged in, It will be on the intake manifold or the hose to the intake manifold. If it is plugged in you need to check that all the wires are in good condition. If they all look good there are alot of possiblities for the cuase of this code. Most likely cuase is the inlet air temp sensor. But it could still be in the wiring or in the pcm (engine computer)

2000 plymouth neon p1899

According to my source, code 1899 is a problem with the governor pressure sensor. But 4 digit codes are model specific, so you may be right about the selector switch.
If the switch tests out to be faulty, it would need to be replaced and the code erased.

Trouble Codes P1684, P0743 and P1193

I looked up the codes.
p1193 is the intake air temperature sensor, which is usually located somewhere in the big black tube that runs from the air filter assembly to the throttle body, replace it.
p1684 all this one is that the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.
p0743 is the transmission torque converter clutch switch, open or short in the circuit, check and see if the wires aren't broken anywhere, and that it didn't come unplugged.Have to crawl under car for that one. Hope this helps.
