about two years ago, my PT didn't start back up after going on a road trip.
in the end, it was the timing belt and a large bill
Same thing happened to my cruise. Its in the shop now, they say its the Crankshaft sensor and it broke off and needs to be replaced. They are charging $425 for it, and they said they aren't sure yet if that's the only thing wrong with it.
I also had issues with the air bag light coming on and off before it quit completely.
I will be driving down the road and the car will quit running. I will pull over and sometime the car will start up and sometimes I have to wait about 20-30 before it will start up again. I have put $2,000.00 into repair work new sensor they told me I needed new motor mounts so I changed them now they say its the fuel pump but I've been told once the fuel pump goes the car won't start. The car starts right up I just can't keep it going.
thanks all. it was the wiring harness above the passenger side drive axle. it had dropped down and cheffed on the axle and worn through the crank sensor wire. and the power wire from the alternator had chef half way through. i fixed both and tied the harness up out of the way so this will not happen again....
crank sensor or broken timing belt?
