Thanks for your help but I am not quite sure I understand are you not suppose to connect the negative clamp to the negative terminal? Just to any part in the vehicle?

We've replaced the battery and the car acts like it wants to start but the engine won't turn over. Any suggestions?

  • Anonymous Mar 09, 2009

No the car will not crank at all. I believe that the starter is dead all together

When I try to start the car the engine will not make a sound at all. All lights, radio, fans, dashboard work perfectly fine. Last week I got a problem code of P1684. What does that mean? Help!

I've heard that th starters they are using in the dodge cars are goine BAD. So answer this , will it try to crank or is it just cranking and not starting?

  • Anonymous Mar 13, 2009

replace the starter, go to an auto place and ask for a starter for your specific car. if they do ot have one ask if you can order 1. i recommend auto zone. also ask them if they think it will help. you might need to buy a wrench to do the job because its in a tight spot. if it doesnt work you should be able to retunit but takeyour old one off first so you can show them.

Proper way to jump your car is to attach the jumper cable clamps to the marked posts on your car...on the vehicle that is jumping you, attach the positive clamp to the positive post and the negative clamp to some piece of metal on the vehicle...can even be a screw as long as it sparks a little (grounding). Don't connect the clamp to the negative post.

The proper way to do it is what I typed out...it is because you do not want to damage the vehicle's battery that is jumping you. I would not be telling you this if it was not true.

Hello everyone I have a 2001 dodge stratus coupe 3.0l thats im have problems with it. Is crank works and then stop the car it wont work wait ten minutes then it works any idea what it could be ????

Difficult to follow your english, but I think you are saying the engine dies and you have to wait 10 minutes to restart it.
Someone would need to check for spark at the plugs and fuel pressure at the injectors when it won't start to proceed.

Wont start...

Need to check the condition of the battery. Use a volt meter and check the voltage before trying to start the motor. Have someone to try to start the motor while you check the voltage on battery at the same time. If the voltage dropps to either a 10 or less, replace the battery. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace it. Hope this will help you.

Battery replaced on 2001 grand dodge caravan now radio dont work

U will need to enter the radio anti theft code, this lock out was triggered by the loss of voltage to the radio during the battery change, this code is unique to each radio and cam in the owners information packet when the cat was sold new.
