SOURCE: Ground Wire fried...

Unfortunately there are only two ways to do this. 1. open up the harness and trace & replace burned wire. 2. cut both ends of the burned wire and leave burned section in place, then run a new wire BUT you need to know if there are any branch circuits coming off it and destinations, and, if the burned wire has crossed over into any other wire you will not see it. Third option is to replace entire harness with a good one. (time intensive and expensive, but actually the best option) Note: you also need to find the reason it burned or anything you do will likely fry again!

SOURCE: I want to hook up my XM radio receiver to tun off

using a test light or meter locate a fuse that does not have power when the switch is off - xm should require only 5 amp fuse - no more than 10 - pull fuse to test which side the power is coming in and hook into load side of fuse-

SOURCE: What size/power are my 95 Saturn SC1 rear speakers?

Well you can look at your car manual or look on the speakers for how much wattage it uses. If not go to a mechanic and ask for help. Hope this helps!?

first of all, is your radio factory or aftermarket? If its factory the you probably have a bad ground or a short in the radio power to antenna. If its after market, then the remote antenna wire is hooked up wrong. Check to make sure the antenna wire is hooked up to the antenna. Good luck

My after market radio does not want to turn on . all the power and ground wires are installed correct . wires are spliced together tho. ive also changed the fuse labeled " radio"

Do you know that you have power and ground. Check with a volt meter or test light across the two wires that are your power and ground. You should also have a memory wire that is usually yellow, but this should not keep the radio from coming on.

I'm not a stereo person, I'm a wire chaser. I looked at wiring for your sound system w/o amplifier in database. Did you check radio fuse for voltage, use a test light, hot all the time. The radio also has to have ground, ground wires are usually black. Did the after market radio come with instructions? Some radios have an anti-theft lock out, if that is the problem I can't help you. Your radio manufacturer may have a web site where you can ask questions? Just to add, the12volt.com
has installer info. It's interesting.

I cant get the after market radio to work. i followed the color diagram perfectly and it just wont turn on. whats going on? there are two sets of wires and some are even missing...? i dont want to pay...

check for proper ground and check to see if you accidently poped a fuse while connecting the wires.Check to see if there are any in line fuses on the radio wiring and see if they're blown.if not, hook the radio up directly to a car battery(with a fuse in line on the power side) and if it doesnt work then its a problem with the radio, if it does, its a problem with the wiring.

1988 bmw 325si manufacture radio is missing but wiring cluster is intact apparently. Do i have to have a stock radio replacement or can i install a cd player deck without causing problems???

Generally you any after market radio can be installed into any car. You might have to cut the original wiring connector but basically all you need to hook up a basic radio/cd player is a positive and a ground wire. That's what powers the radio/cd player. Next all you need to do is hook up the speaker wires the unit. One other option is to check out ebay for a used radio/cd player. You will do better getting a radio that does not have an anti-theft feature. If it has an anti-theft feature you will have to enter a code to make it work.
