Take off the tire, remove the bolts that hold the brake caliper on. Use a coat hanger to keep the brake hose from stretching. Do not allow the caliper to hang from the hose without support. Grab the rotoe and slide it off the studs.

SOURCE: 2006 toyota rav 4 fog light bulb replacement

fIRST YOU SEE A RUBBER GASKET SURROUNDING THE HEADLIGHT PLUG IN THE BACK OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. pULL OFF THE GASKET AND LET IT HANG ON THE SURROUN DING HEADLIGHT WIRES. tHEN PULL OFF THE HEADLIGHT WIRE HARNESS BY GRABBING THE SOCKET (NOT THE WIRES). AROUND THE BULB IS A THIN SILVER HOLDING SPRING THAT LOOSENS BY SQUEEZING THE ENDS TOGETHER AND ROTATING IT. iT WILL LOOSEN AROUND THE HEADLIGHT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE HEADLIGHT WILL "FLOP" AROUND AND PULL IT OUT, REMEMBERING TO SEE HOW THE THREE CONNECTORS ARE LOCATED (I.E - IS ONE CONNECTOR AT 12 O CLOCK POSITION AND THE OTHER TWO ARE AT 9 AND 3 OR ARE THEY AT 3,6 AND 9, ETC.). rE-ASSEMBLY IS THE OPPOSITIE. tHE TRICK IS TO GET THE THIN SPRING WIRE BACK IN PLACE. YOU HAVE TO SQUEEZE THE SPRING AND RE-POSITION IT SO IT KEEPS THE BULB SECURLY IN PLACE

Having just changed the bulb, I would advise taking the whole headlight assembly out first. It is near impossible to feel or imagine how to change the bulb without seeing it. First, use a phillips screwdriver to take the single screw holding the strip off just below the headlight assembly. By doing so, you will now see the other two bottom bolts holding the headlight in. Take all four bolts out then disconnect the bulb from behind. Then proceed as above.

SOURCE: 2008 rav-4 toyota brake pedal

If you own a Toyota with (BA) Brake Assist, it may be out of adjustment. It is adjustable on the 2010 Highlander and I would guess that it might be adjustable on your Toyota vehicle as well. (Assuming this is actually your problem, you have had it checked out by your service department and they said there is nothing wrong or that it was normal.) If the brake assist is out of adjustment it may be coming on too soon or when minimal brake pressure is applied. This causes a long brake pedal (brake fade or the pedal travels longer than normal before resistance is felt) and/or jerky brakes. As far as the Hill Climb Assist or DSC, this feature is activated when the brakes are applied after the vehicle has come to a stop and then you continue to press harder on the brakes for a couple more seconds. It also comes on if you drive with two feet. If you have your foot on the brake and you press slightly on the accelerator (when the vehicle is completely stopped), the DSC will come on and you will hear the chirp.

My toyota 2001 rav 4 makes rubbing sound only when i step on the brakes, thought it was the front brake early indicator, so changed front brakes..they needed it! But still makes the noise..sounds like it's...

Yes, this will be the rear brakes. Most of these are the same design as the front and are as easy to replace. You should always change all the front and back brakes at the same time, as it will affect braking and handling.

Change rear brakes and your problem will be resolved.

How do I change the front brake discs and brake pads on a 2006 Chevy HHR LS model 2.2L 4 Cyl.?

Changing the pads is very straight forward and is no different from any other disc brake equipped vehicle. However, if you have never changed disc brakes before I would NOT recommend you do so on you HHR without either a shop or technical manual. Changing the rotors is very easy - they slide off the mounting studs once the disc calipers are removed.

How easy it to change front brake pads on a toyota rav 4

not hard at all.remove tires.then remove 2 screws either 12mm or 14mm that hold the brake caliper in place.remove caliper but DO NOT disconnect the brake line from the caliper.get a C-CLAMP in order to get the caliper piston pushed back in.remove old brake pads and install new ones in the same order as the old ones were removed.you will want to check the rotors to make sure they are in good condition before you install the new pads, then put caliper back on and tighten screws to specs.do the same on the other side and always remember to PUMP YOUR BRAKE PEDAL A FEW TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE CALIPER PISTONS TO ENGAGE ON THE NEW PADS. hope this info helps.good luck and take care, manny

Brake rotors

Are there small retainer clips on the studs still? More than likely its just rust built up on the center hub. Take some sand paper to the center hub, as long as e-brake is released and caliper is off, it will come off. I'm not familar with the toyota sienna's but if they have internal drum e-brakes, I would back off the adjuster if they do.
