The OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) system in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder is powered by the vehicle's battery and is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM). If the OBD port isn't lighting up your reader, it could be due to a blown fuse.
In your Pathfinder, the OBD fuse is located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. The fuse you need to check is the 10A fuse labeled "ECM" or "ECU". You can consult your vehicle owner's manual or the fuse box cover for the exact location of the ECM fuse.
If the ECM fuse is intact, there may be a problem with the OBD system itself or the wiring connecting it to the ECM. In that case, it's best to have a qualified mechanic or technician diagnose the issue to prevent further damage to your vehicle.
Please look at the bottom left corner of your steering wheel and the port should be around that location or on the bottom part of your dashboard. This would be around where your car's fuse box is located. You'll be able to plug in your obd widget at that port. Otherwise, you can get help at your local autozone to find the port location.
Locate the OBD port in the driver-side foot well of the 2000 VW Jetta. The OBD port is to the left of the fuse panel. There is only one port large enough to accept the pinned connector of the OBD scan tool.
You don't have an OBDII port. You have an On Board Diagnostic set up or just plain OBD I.
The connector is under the dash. Take a paper clip and put it between the number 1 and number 2 ports. When you first stick the paper clip in you will get 1 blink and a pause the a 2 blinks which is normal and lets you know that the the OBD computer is reading properly and your codes will shortly follow in sets of two.

It is OBD II all cars world-wide were required to be OBD II by the 1997 model year. The port should be located under the dash on the drivers side of the car. It looks like a serial port on the back of a home computer.
