What type of coolant do i need for my 2004 kia rio?

I was driving and suddenly the check engine light came on, along with the oil/fluid light. When I checked under the hood, all my fluids were empty. No oil, coolant, water. There was no smoke and no strange sounds. The car just shut off. I topped up the oil, but I'm not sure what type of coolant I need.

This could be a bad thing or it could just be the guage failed. I would bring it in to dealer and hope you are under waranty meaning under 100,000 miles. And single owner.

SOURCE: 2002 kia rio rxv..check engine light came on..

This could be an O2 sensor or sometimes with lower grade gasoline I have seen different cars act this way. If the O2 is not bad try mid to super gas or fuel system treatment/cleaner to see if there is a change. I know in my area there is mostly 10% ethanol which will lower octane. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: 2002 kia rio rxv check engine light came on again..

On my wife's car the mechanic said it was gas cap. (NOT!!) I cleared with an OBD reader and the code suggested a leak in the evatorator system. I found a steel tube that was routed over the weld flange of the gas tank. It went from the front of the car, down the drivers side, over the weld joing of the gas tank and into a charcoal evaporator filter on the passengers side near the rear wheel. The tube crossing over the gas tank crumbled when I touched it. I replaced it with a short piece of reinforced neoprene hose (to cross over the gas tank) and a couple of hose clamps. Cost of parts was about $5.00. Havn't seen Check Engine since. Good luck

Mystery plastic cap in my 2004 Kia Rio. While

IF you use a lot of engine oil then the engine rebuild was not done correctly and the oil is being burnt off in the cat converter. Any more than 1/2 pint in 5.000 miles is excessive. IT would be wise to have the ac pressure tested as you may have high head pressures being generated which will stop the compressor from working. The high head pressures may be from the fact that the fan in front of the condenser is not working or the coolant fan is not working for the engine causing the rise in temp at idle as there is no cooling air through the radiator for both the ac and engine.

My 2003 Kia Rio has almost 200,000 miles on it... 4 months ago I drove it over 2,000 miles with no problems. Before leaving, I took it in to my mechanic to have them change the oil and oil filter, and just generally check it over... fluid levels, brakes, tires ~ basic stuff.
Good luck!

I recently purchased a 2004 Kia Rio. It is in excellent condition. A week ago, before registering it, we had an inspection and oil change done. Everything runs great, there are no problems with this car...

Hi:
I have not heard of an oil change causing a check engine light.

A good plan is to have your Kia scanned, to see what the code is that tripped the check engine light. Most auto parts stores, such as autozone, will do this for free.
Some codes are very simple, such as a loose gas cap.

Once you find out what the code is, you can then make an educated decision on what to do.

Check and make sure you dont have a air pocket in the cooling system. I would have you a/c pressure checked to make sure you didnt over pressurize the system.

2001 Kia Rio , driving along when suddenly check engine light comes on, loss of power shifting problems?

Could be a transmission problem, or other fault. Best recommendation I can give you is get the Haynes repair manual for your vehicle and if an Auto Zone is close get them to read the fault code for you. That will tell you what the problem is and give you an idea if it's something you can fix.
