I was driving and suddenly the check engine light came on, along with the oil/fluid light. When I checked under the hood, all my fluids were empty. No oil, coolant, water. There was no smoke and no strange sounds. The car just shut off. I topped up the oil, but I'm not sure what type of coolant I need.

This could be a bad thing or it could just be the guage failed. I would bring it in to dealer and hope you are under waranty meaning under 100,000 miles. And single owner.

This could be an O2 sensor or sometimes with lower grade gasoline I have seen different cars act this way. If the O2 is not bad try mid to super gas or fuel system treatment/cleaner to see if there is a change. I know in my area there is mostly 10% ethanol which will lower octane. I hope this helps!

On my wife's car the mechanic said it was gas cap. (NOT!!) I cleared with an OBD reader and the code suggested a leak in the evatorator system. I found a steel tube that was routed over the weld flange of the gas tank. It went from the front of the car, down the drivers side, over the weld joing of the gas tank and into a charcoal evaporator filter on the passengers side near the rear wheel. The tube crossing over the gas tank crumbled when I touched it. I replaced it with a short piece of reinforced neoprene hose (to cross over the gas tank) and a couple of hose clamps. Cost of parts was about $5.00. Havn't seen Check Engine since. Good luck
