I assume you mean you changed the cabin air filter under the leaf screen.

Do you have a message center with filter % life or a light?

Your owner manual should have the reset procedure. If not, call your dealer and ask them how to reset.

You just press the stat button to get it to ac filter then press and hold the reset button.Do not keep the stat button pressed while holding the reset.

  • Anonymous Mar 05, 2009

Press stat button to get to ac filter press reset for new then press reset again and hold. See if that works.

  • Anonymous Mar 05, 2009

  • Anonymous Mar 05, 2009

Ok I double checked it this morning at the shop. You press stat button untill ac filter displays, press and release reset to read new filter then press and hold reset to read 100%.

first off learn how AC works, for sure this, set of hard logic, in the system for self preservation.
and if you had used the OBD2 SCAN TOOl first after fuses checked
you'd already know this.
  1. high/low, R134 pressure switch tripped saving the full destruction of the compressor. a volt meter finds this truth also.
  2. the controller AC also cuts AC if engine overheats or the sensor lies.
  3. the control AC cuts AC at wide open throttle.WOT
  4. AC cuts AC if engine IN gross DTC errors, or in limp-home mode to protect it and the driver, so more power is on tap from engine.
  5. evap core sensor , sees freeze up and icing, Ice can do damage so it cut the compressor dead(means clutch off line)
  6. the controller detects ambient temps WAY to low and cuts AC.
  7. The dash controller AC is failing, but manual AC? not really if it's lamp glows for AC , the main controller is BCM on most cars.
  8. the dash HVAC blower must not be dead or AC stay off line

What is the problem? How do I fix it? Resistor Pack? Fan Control? Entire AC system?

your problem could be in your control switch panel itself. pull out the control panel and check the connections with a Probe Light Tester. The following video is for a Volvo but is used here only to give you an understanding of how to remove your A/C Control unit to check for poor circuitry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmCKFx1B4cA

Speedometer, cruise light , ac/heater control doesn't work

Sounds like someone needs to do some more troubleshooting first. Changing the cluster is not a simple matter since your mileage will be different. And the cluster is on a different circuit that the ac so one should not affect the other.

If you could tell me the code (diagnostic trouble code - DTC) stored in the Engine Computer (ECU), I might be able to help. Find an OBDII scanner & retrieve the code (or codes) stored in the engine's control unit (ECU). Write them down & let me know what/which code(s). We can go from there.

Ac not working on 2004 s430

If you have the hood up stand outside while someone activates your air off and on and see if the clutch on the compressor goes on and off while they activate the switch. If that isn't it the it could be improperly charged system or your climate control door that opens and closes for hot or air is not working properly and only stays on heat.

do this calibration reset, it will usually rest he lights and the ac will work again, if it doesn't reset you have a part failure and the dealer you need to hook a Chrysler scan tool to diagnose the problem.

CALIBRATION/DIAGNOSTICS TEST ENTRY
TO INITIATE TESTS:
Set Blower motor ON HIGH
Set Mode position to Panel
Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped)
Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light)
RESULTS:
All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds
Calibration Test is running when REAR WIPER and INTERMITTENT are alternately flashing. Cooldown test is running if A/C and RECIRC are alternately flashing.
Acceptable results is REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit.
After all tests have passed, Calibration Diagnostics and Cooldown can be run separately

Light for heater panel not working

I've done it many times myself. Here is what I do:

Remove the trim that covers instrument cluster, radio, heater control unit. To do this, you must remove 2 screws from trim that are mounted at top of instrument cluster area. Next remove screws above cigarette lighter/head light switch. Now that should be all of them. Position your steering wheel all the way down. Pull off of the trim from the radio area. It is snap fitted so just give it a little tug. The part of the trim covering the instrument cluster is really tight. You have to be careful and pry the thing out while trying not to scratch the top of your steering column. It does come out eventually. Now remove heater/ac control unit. Should be a couple of screws holding it in. There are vacuum hoses and a heater control cable mounted to the back of it also, but you shouldn't have to pull the thing all of the way out. Just turn the light socket to remove it from the back of the heater/ac unit and R/R the bulb.

AC in 98 Malibu

I have had the same problem. You have to replace the panel where the fan/heat/AC controls are. The panels are not well made. I have had my Malibu for 8 years and have been through 3 panels. You can do it yourself it is very easy. 1) Remove the trim piece that surrounds the panel and the stereo. 2) remove the two screws that hold the panel in. 3) remove the connectors from the panel and replace with the new panel. The connectors will only attach one way.
