My exhaust is constantly blowing white smoke. I checked my oil and the dip stick is extremely low. my water pump has been replaced recently within the past 2-3 months.
Oil too low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have some change your oil & filter immediately !!! drain radiator & coolant reservoir , refill w/ fresh 50/50 coolant , white smoke is not exactly a good thing ! it could mean coolant is mixing w/ oil , because of a possible leak from a bad gasket either from intake manifold or head gasket !!! water pump would not cause this ! I would bet on a gasket leak given the age of the car . 2000 ! 13 years old, how was it maintained, intake gaskets are cheaply made, head gaskets are made well ! so, my bet, goes to the intake manifold gasket !!!!!!good luck kristle !

Hello, what color is the smoke? If it's white in color your burning antifreeze. If your burning antifreeze the most common problems are a bad head gasket or cracked head.
If the smoke is blue in color your burning oil. There are many reasons to why you could be burning oil, all of which mean one of three things. You can either rebuild the motor, replace the motor, or drive it with it burning oil and check your oil level periodicaly.
There isn't really anything you can do to check what is the root of your cause with out disassembly of the motor. There is a tall tale sign of a bad head gasket or cracked head and that is your oil will have a milky color and texture to it or your coolant will have an oil slick on the top when you take off the radiator cap. This doesn't always happen with a bad head gasket or cracked head but it is one way to generally tell.

More than likely it is coming from the intake manifold. You can use a pressure tester that hooks to the radiator and use a flashlight and mirror to get a better look at where it is coming from.

Heater core must be leaking. Turn it on defrost and see if the windshield fogs up.

If the smoke is white in color, has a sweet scent and deposits moisture (face the palm of your hand about 3 inches back from the exhaust tip with the engine running for a few seconds then check your hand for moisture) then you are burning coolant. If it is being burned and exiting out the exhaust, you more than likely have a head gasket leak so be cautious of the engine temperature because the car will possibly overheat. If you look closely at the smoke and if it has a blue tint in the white then you are burning oil which could be leaking from the piston rings. Further inspection would be necessary in both cases. It is very important to correct either issue immediately due to the severity of the possible outcomes that can destroy the engine and leave you stranded and car less to name a few.
