Still have radiator over heating in jeep Have new radiator new thermostat which is in correctly also have new anti freeze 50/50. Was told to check heater hoses ,I will try that next. Have no heat also Temp reading is very high ,I turn engine off and lower radiator hose is cold. Was told could be an air pocket How do I remove the air pocket??? Please help
Check water pump and make sure that its working. Should be circulating antifreeze in radiator and in engine. You can also check and the head gasket and make sure its NOT blown. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA
Look for bleeder valves either on thermostat housing or around water pump. Start up open valves when you get a steady stream of coolant and no air bubbles close valves, and that should be it. Now if there is no valves, open radiator cap to first natch and run engine but stay back and watch temp. it should burp the air out that way, if it don't just shut off engine and leave cap loose, and let set over night as it cools it should burp the air out along with some coolant. If that don't cure your problem you may have to look a little deeper, like water pump or head gasget.
The bottom hose will not contain an air pocket. Check your water pump. When the engine is cold, take off the radiator cap and start the engine. When the engine temperature indicator shows normal operating temperature, you should be able to see the coolant moving through the radiator. If not, the water pump is not working. Could be a missing belt, could be a bad pump.
