I have a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport heat/fan problem

Does it have an aftermarket fan switch? usually it is located beside the radiator. I had one of these in my 86 trans am, all you have to do is adjust it until it shuts off. hope this helps

Verify the radiator is flowing properly. It may need replacing due to the age of vehicle. The clutch on the engine fan (the fan that turns all the time when engine is running) will need to be replaced.

It sounds like you blend door is broken. It is about an 8 hour job to tear the dash apart and replace the actuators that control blending of hot and cold air under your dash.

Turn the engine on and leave it idle with the rad cap off and the heater on full heat and the fan on high,let the engine run until you feel heat from the vents in the inside and then shut off the motor.Wait until the engine cools some and top up the coolant,put the cap on and then you will be good to go.

On a 96 model,the heater fan motor comes out through the engine bay.Take off the batt. leads.Undo the bolts and then remove the fan power lead.The fan has 3 bolts.It then comes out.Hope this helps

The fan motor probably shorted and blew the fuse. The other possibility is that the fan switch melted and the positive wire shorted to ground somewhere. I have seen the switches actually melt the dash where it is located on Ford vans. If you un-plug the fan motor and replace the fuse and try to use the switch and it does not blow the fuse, the motor is probably bad. If you have a volt meter you could check the motor to see if there is a dead short between the positive terminal on the motor and the motor case using the Ohms scale. Hope this helps you out!

sounds like you have a wire that has lost or burned off its cover and is grounding out the vehicle and has soon as its power is cut the wire breaks free from the bare metal and thats why you can immediatly start the vehicle
