Does your radio offer a four digit input pass code? Many stereos require this if they have suffered great voltage power loss or if they have been disconnected.
Simple solution for anyone! Had the same problem with radio turning itself on in my Seat Ibiza Stella 1.4 2000. Here's what you do.. . Remove front panel . Disconnect tape player and open it . Clean the mother board paths(bottom side) with some chemical liquid not to strong(i used sticker remover) from black dirt. You can scratch between paths with a needle for better effect. . Put all back together . Problem solved. It was driving me mad but now it's working when I want it to :)
