My mom has a 2000 Mazda Protege. The dash lights don't work and 3 of the power windows don't work, the 2 rear and the front passenger window. Can it be a window locking system for the window problem and a fuse for the dash problem? Thank-you for any help.

It is very likely that you have a bad break switch. It is usually located on a bracket right behind the brake pedal bar. A new switch is generally $30 to $45, and only takes a couple of minutes to change.
If it's the same as my sister's 2002, there are two belts. The tensioner for the outer belt is on the front, under the power steering pump or ac compressor(cant remember which is on the front there). Loosen the one that locks it in place, and the pivot point bolt on top, then the long one can be turned to adjust tension. All 3 of those bolts are 14mm heads. For the inner belt, it's a pain. It is in the rear, under the alternator. 12 mm for that tensioner and lock out bolt.
Firing order 1-3-4-2
Cylinder number from passenger side to drivers side 1-2-3-4
The rotor rotates towards the left (anti clockwise) #1 post is towards the passenger side headlight to the right is #3 next right is #4 nest right is #2 next right is back to #1
Good luck and hope this helps.
