2002 3.0 auto sport 39000 miles Inoperative heater 6 weeks ago resulted in system being flushed out by jag machanic. Old coolant rust coloured & consistancy of treacle, required 3 flushes. Heating was not good when I bought car 2 years ago. No visible cause. Heater working OK & coolant & bottle clean afterwards. Now car started to leak rust coloured coolant. Prelim investigation rust back in coolant bottle, rust coloured water on engine casing below battery box, rust liquid coming out of what appears to be drain hole in casing of water pump mounted near side top of engine adjacent battery box! Seems a straight forward pump replacement+flush+more new antifreeze! Or is it? I'd appreciate some advice before I go ahead & replace the pump.
If the pump is leaking then it needs replacing it sounds like someone in the past has introduced glycol based coolant in to a oat. organic acid tech coolant system THEY DO NOT MIX and go like brown jelly and block things up like heater/ac systems it needs a good flush using a cooling system flushing adative

yes you got it in one,, its an air lock stoping the water going round the heater, you need to blead the air out rad seal wont block up the heater,,,,iv used it many times,,,my old truck ran with it in for years!
look for a bleed scew on a water pipe and open it with the motor running let water ran out till no air is in it, top up header tank as well
