Replace speedometer sensor and it still doesn't work. any suggestions.
It is the speedometer that doesn't work? What problem do you have? Does the transmission shift or is it stuck in 2nd?
You need to have someone with access to a computer scanner drive your van with the scanner on it. But if the transmission and the cruise work it is likely a bad speedo head
Great. Glad you were able to fix it and didn't have to spend the money on a new one. But, can I have a little better rating on this because it was a defective speedo head, you were just able to fix it. I wasn't able to physically look at it to see that.
How did you get the wire into the dash to pull it back?
Nevermind I figured it out. slid a twist tie through the hole for the tripmeter

the transmission works fine. the tachometer also works fine. the only problem is that the needle on the speedometer doesn't move at all, the lights all come on fine.
Had a computer scan done. I had replaced the speedometer output sensor (there is also an input sensor). When the computer scan came out fine, we noticed that the speedometer needle itself was on the wrong side of the little bar that it rests on. A wire was inserted to bring the needle back on the correct side of the bar and now the speedometer works fine. The output sensor was probably faulty but the speedometer needle just needed be pulled back to it's original position. Thanks for your help.
