Hello, I had this same problem,with my 2004 Dodge Caravan The key would not turn in the lock,Several people, Including a mechanic, Tried different ways to get the key to turn, But, could not, I had it towed to a nearby garage, And made arrangements to have it repaired, I then went home, turned on the computer, And on the homepage, I wrote, "Ignition "Problems,2004 dodge Caravan, I found a site where many others had the same problem with Dodge Caravans, One person said he, Or she, hit the end of the key with a shoe, The key then turned, Another with a rubber hammer, I had already tried pushing the key in farther,And even bumped it with my hand, I then took a rubber hammer with me, And tapped the key with it several times, It worked, One person on the site where I got the information from said the took the van to a backsmith after getting it started, And was told they had several dozen customers with this same problem. You cannot disconnect or remove the airbag ,the vehicle will not pass its annual vehicle mechanical inspection you will have to modify the hand controls ,then get a technical engineer to make some drawings which must be presented to the official college for approval ,then they can be made by an authorised workshop ,then fitted by the appropiate garage with a certificate of conformity ,then vehicle presented for a special inspection by the vehicle inspection authority ,
