My 92 Izusu Trooper, 3.2LV6 SOHC, A/T been having a problem with power under load(when flooring the gas pedel), a misfire in one of the cyclinders with a pop evry once in a while. I changed the spark plugs, and do not have a mass air flow. It dosen't seem like there is a blockage in the exhaust! I had to repair a spak plug wire or two, and an exhaust leak, but now I'm lost. Should I look into cahnging the wires, and the coil packs(distributer). Or could it be something else?? I don't really want to start throwing too much money at it since I got it pretty cheap! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You in advance,
B!
In most cases that would be the plug wires, if u do them youreself do one wire at a time and route them correctly, replace any plastic cable clips they snap in to, do this and u will have a quality job that will cure your problem for years, if the plugs are more than 60 miles old change them as well, use the same plugs as the factory used, don't use Autolite..

It is missfiring when I accelerate. Could this mean a break down with the spark plug wires under load?
Well, Thank you for the info, but that didn't fix it! So, I changed the plug wires with OEM wires from Napa and no good fix. It still misfires under load any more ideas?
Have a full diagnostic done by a dealer, don't guess u will bury yourself money wise very quickly.
