Replace the stereo in the Jeep.
Aftermarket or factory your choice.
There is no way to self resolve this problem...
And any junk yard stereo you buy will need an activation code. Just buy a good Pioneer or Kenwood stereo and install it. Problem solved. No more BS
Not sure what you mean. What are you wanting to fix? Buttons, the display, the c/d player? You're probably better off buying a used one, or going with an aftermarket unit. Our c/d player stopped ejecting disks and wouldn't play, so I installed an aftermarket double-din Pioneer unit. Plays DVDs and I installed a backup camera. You need to be a little tech-savvy to do this.
go to the electronic store such as Best Buy or simuliar and buy the wire harness that plugs in the factory plug in and then just connect the same color wires to the stereo wire harness
it should work as long as you buy the correct wire harness for your car go to an auto parts store and look for the harness for your make and model also if you want to get it proffesionally installed where ever you go should carry the harness so you shouldnt have to buy one if thats the path you choose
All CD players should fit. There is a curved panel that is usually supplied by the installation company, such as Best Buy, which will be snapped over the CD player once installed -- this will cover the gaps on the sides of the CD player.
If your installing a stock radio/cd player from another Dodge the wiring plug is the same and will fit.If your installing a aftermarket radio/cd player(JVC,Pioneer, etc)you will need to buy a adapter plug that wires up to the radio and is a direct fit to your factory wire harness,so your not cutting your wires. When you buy the adapter plug it comes with a wire diagram of which wire is what.Your aftermarket radio should have a diagram also, either on it or in the manual.Hope this helps you.
"PEO" USUALLY means Player Error Optical, which means in most cases the laser has malfunctioned. When this happens of course,no CD or disc will play. You can try and clean it with a disk cleaner and if that doesn't work you are probably gonna hafta buy a new cd player. I have a link to a best buy private auction that lets you bid on things like cd players and what not. I bought one, a Pioneer DEH 2900 for 16 bucks!, Lemme know and I'll have it sent to you.
