The Internet, though, has a large number of web sites where
you can buy service manuals and schematics from bookstores,
publishers, and other collectors. Here is just a sampling of
what sites are out there:
If the bulb lights when another door is opened, replace the plunger switch in the jamb of the problem door.
If you are not getting a light when *any* door is opened, check your fuse (often labeled "Courtesy" or "CTSY" in your fuse box). Fuse box can be under the driver's side of the dash or in the engine compartment. Add a comment to your post with the year, make, and model of your vehicle for more specific details about the location of your fuse box, if needed.
I wonder if the buzzing is coming from the key switch ? (ignition ) . CTSY is always HOT ! you need a wire diagram to see where CTSY wires travel to & from to isolate this draw . I found that the CTSY 20amp fuse is also wired to the parking lights 20A fuse @ fuse block . start there, check all wires, grounds to parking lamps, and switch, it might be your headlight switch thats causing your problem ! replace it and see what happens !
Hello swatem1: My name is Roger and I will help. You did not specify a specific year car you were looking for. This is for a 1988 thru 1991. They do change things from time to time. The ctsy fuse carries power for the inside lights, power antenna, automatic safety belts (1991) and the warning and alarms (1991). Should you need more specific to d different year please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it was helpful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
I have always had a place in my heart for the Olds Cutlass. I own a '90 Olds Cutlass Calais--WITH the fuse box COVER. I went out to the car and removed the cover and have it next to me so that I can type the EXACT fuse order as they appear on the inside cover. There are 2 col. When I've finished the l/h side, I'll make a line to indicate the start of the r/h side. I will also put the Circuit on the left & fuse on the right.
