Replace 2007 Oddysey tailgate light assembly - 2007 Honda Odyssey

lower the tailgate remove two screws and pull outward on taillight assembly.

Open tailgate and use a #20 Torx screwdriver to remove two screws located on the inner side tail light assembly. On the driver's side, the screws are accessable through the tailgate hinge area with the gate open.Pull taillight assembly straight back from the vehicle to get it off. You may need to utilize a wedge to gently work the top and bottom of assembly away from vehicle on outer side. If so, be careful to use plastic wedge or a protective layer (such as a thin piece of cardboard) next to the body to prevent scratching the paint.Once removed, twist applicable light cover counter clockwise and pull to access lightbulb.You may want to apply a small amount of lithium grease to the two plastic stud holes before reinstalling the cover to make it easier to remove the next time.

Open the tailgate and remove the two screws on the inside of the tailgate wall which hold the tail light assembly. Then pull the whole tail light away from the truck. There will be a couple of plastic pins holding it on. Gently pry those out with a screw driver if they don't come by themselves. When the light mechanism is free, push in and twist the bulb socket release tab and it should release the bulb from the assembly. Take the bulb out of the socket and replace. Twist and push the socket back into the tail light mechanism. Push plastic pins back in and reinstall the two screws. Test signal and brakes.

open the tailgate and there should be 2 screws on the side of the bed remove those screws and pull the light assembly out.

Drop the tailgate, on the inside of bed where tailgate closes are couple of screws.These hold the light assembly in the bed. remove the screws, then remove light assembly. The light bulb can be removed from back of the tail light assembly. Check to make sure the lightbulb work before you put the tail light back together. OPEN THE TAILGATE AND REMOVE THE SCREWS THAT GO SIDEWAYS INTO THE LENS. AFTER THEY ARE OUT, CAREFULLY PULL THE ENTIRE LIGHT ASSEMBLY TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. THERE ARE TABS THAT HOLD ONTO RUBBER INSERTS. AFTER THE LIGHT IS OUT, TURN THE SOCKET OF THE BULB YOU ARE REPLACING AND PULL THE BULB STRAIGHT OUT. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. open the tailgate. you will see two taps on the side of the lense assembly. pull them back and there is 2 bolts. then you need to pull the lense straight out.

Remove the molding surrounding the latch (gently) with a screwdriver by prying away from the tailgate. Remove the bolts from the tailgate on the backside of the latch assembly. lightly pull the lever assembly forward, but do not try to pull it out. The rod that came loose will be in the general area of the lever assembly. Most likely the retaining clip to the rod came off.

You need to drop the headliner down to get at the light assembly.
