Why is it sometimes i can drive my car and others it wont move?

Check and see will it move in low or reverse. If it wont move ONLY in drive and will move in other gears, your overdrive clutches are destroyed and the computer has placed the vehicle into "limp home" mode. meaning you cannot hurt it any more than you already have. If it wont move in ANY gear, put some tranny fluid in it. Start it and put in "N" with the e-brake on and check the fluid level with the dipstick.

As you say the other one moves a bit the linkage appears to be connected, check the nut for tightness on the arm that wont move, they sometimes come loose during frosty periods when the wipers are stuck to the screen.

than yes have your transmission checked. it sounds like maybe the gears have melted togher not allowing it to go into any other gear and that when the transmission heats up it is popping or slipping out of gear.
