You need to give us a better idea of your real problem. Does the engine crank over? Does the engine start? Is the vehicle failing to go into gear?
One part that can be intermittent is the Interlock switch on the Brake pedal lever. If this switch fails to light-up the Brake lights, you may not be able to crank the motor, or shift it.
If the engine starts and runs, but does not shift into gear, your foot needs to be on the Brake pedal. It needs a signal from the Brake switch Interlock to allow shifting of the gearshift.
The Brake pedal Interlock switch can be loose or cracked and it will give you the problems you are having.
